  • GOG releases NWN2 complete with Mysteries of Westgate

On the 24th of January, GOG finally made it possible again for people to buy Neverwinter Nights 2 without having to also buy other games. A short time after the lawsuit between Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast and Atari over their handling of the D&D license, Atari lost the rights to publish D&D-based games, and all online stores removed Neverwinter Nights 2 from their catalogues.

In the months that followed, NWN2 eventually showed up again, but only in bundles, such as D&D Neverwinter ...

  • CDProjektRED hint open world Witcher 3 in the works

Yesterday CDProjektRED, developers of The Witcher series, released a teaser CGI trailer for their already announced project CyberPunk 2077. It's pretty cool, albeit gives us no insight in to the game play itself. But that's not what this news is about. Within the trailer CDProjektRED threw in some great little easter eggs and spoilers amongst all the static. One of which is a rather lengthy message, picked up on Reddit by hotweels258, that reads:

Do you like our latest creat...

  • BLOG PIECE: Nexus development and expansion philosophy

I’m enjoying a slow couple of days at the moment, catching up on watching Homeland (which I don’t think is that great, in case you care), playing through Borderlands 2 again and trying for the life of me to finish a campaign of Crusader Kings 2 while fighting the good fight for the Vanu in Planetside 2. All this is before I even think about playing through XCOM, and I’ve still got Torchlight 2 waiting in my Steam account, unplayed, with Faster Than Light installing on to my PC as we speak....

  • New Site Index - Day 3

A few days ago we finished rolling our preliminary new index page, complete with feeds. Since then we’ve been carefully combing through the feedback that didn’t contain threats on our lives or the use of pitchforks, fire-lit torches or tinfoil hats and we’ve been gradually working to improve the features on offer. I thought, on day 3, I’d share some of the updates and improvements we’ve made since first rolling out the new index page and just let you know that we’re still working on ...

    Site speed
We’ve been working like badgers since rolling out the new code on Skyim Nexus to get everything refined and optimised for the new code base and to eradicate the slow-downs that have plagued the site and forums over the past few weeks. We think we might have sussed it out now...

  • Site updates and content filtering

We are in the final stages of rolling out our new codebase on all the Nexus sites and the only site left to be converted is Skyrim Nexus. We’ve been converting each Nexus site one at a time and then tweaking and updating the code to reflect any performance issues that have occurred. Due to the sheer amount of traffic that Skyrim Nexus still receives we’re being extra careful and ensuring we’ve optimised all the code as much as possible (based on our observations from the sites we’ve alre...
