Thats ok, thats why this is an alternative and not an overwritten upgrade to the old one. Plus its meant to look cooled more compared to the version 1 offering.
I'm sorry but I definitely like your other one better. This looks too uniform. The other one was alternately bright and dark in different areas so it looks more like liquid lava whereas this seems like it's relatively cool.
For my taste this is better than the version 1. This is darker an not too hot. Version 1 is more orange and yellow, for those who like it brigter.
Very nice. Ofcource the combination would be best, with mostly red and somewhere cuts that allow hot lava to burts in orange and yellow and white to the surfface.
2. Include more detail such as a permission section, tools used, etc. Here is a Readme Generator that might be of help.
3. Since this is a texture replacer, it would help the community by packaging this mod as an OMOD-Ready archive (must create OMOD first) so that those players that use OBMM can create and OMOD in 5 clicks with all the details that you would pre-set for them.

Very nice indeed!
lhammonds or any one else who knows whats OMOD and OBMM? i have no clue.
Suggestions:
1. Re-package the archive so that it can be extracted directly to Oblivion's Data folder.
Example:
Textures*
Koldorns Improved Lava 2.esp
Koldorns Improved Lava 2 Readme.txt
2. Include more detail such as a permission section, tools used, etc. Here is a Readme Generator that might be of help.
