YOU ARE an OBLIVION GOD! if you could do this for many other textures, i would personally say they would be an auto-install for me...Qarl's is so freakin huge, and the ones you make are categorized and i <3 it... reallly niice work!
hey there. i quite like this mod, but i have one thing to say - i find that if you stare straight at the ground (as you do) the textures can look a little odd. i realise that this might be to do with parallaxing or something but i don't know much about it. aside from that i think it looks great and i am using it

one thing that might help you is to use bsa unpacker. for some reason .NET doesn't work on my system so i cant use obmm and i couldn't be bothered to use archive invalidation for my 150 odd mods
however, if you get bsa unpacker (available from the oblivion construction set wiki, i think) you can unpack your models, textures and sound bsas (in the data folder) and then copy the contents back into the data folder. if you then remove the bsa file, oblivion will find the files in their folders automatically. this then means that any mods you install with new textures and so on will overwrite the vanilla ones and work with no effort at all. all you have to do is check the mods get unzipped to the right places (ie meshes and textures folders go into the data folder, thus prompting 'do you want to overwrite' message boxes)
i would recommend keeping a copy of the bsa files elsewhere, or a copy of the unpacked files, so that you can revert to any vanilla files you want if you decide you don't like something in a mod
also, when you first copy the unpacked bsa files into your oblivion/data folder, be careful not to overwrite the files from any mods you already have installed. you can check the dates of the files when asked if you want to overwrite and the ones from your mods should have more recent dates
I got mine to work, however I don't use the archiveinval, I use OBMM's utility that does it for you. I have three seperate screen shots to help you see what I'm talking about, however I guess when you snap your desktop your moues doesn't show up so I'll explain as I go. My desktop res is at 1600x1200 so you might have to scroll around if you have it at a lower setting
Screen Shot 3 : This is the menu that will come up. By default I think Textures is selected. I personally do Textures, Meshes, Menus, and Trees and LOD. Choose which ones suit you, and select "Update Now" on the bottom right. http://www.ameroth.com/images/oblivion/invalthing3.jpg
Now I by no means claim to be all knowing in these matters... I'm just explaining how I do it and it seems to work well for me. Hope this helps!

Optimised textures and cut filesize nearly in half while retaining same resolution. Performance boosting update. Same download link obviously.
