A simple mod that sets all schools of magic to advance at the same rate. THE BOTTOM LINE: A more balanced approach to becoming more proficient in magic as a whole. THE BOTTOM LINE: A more balanced approach to becoming more proficient in magic as a whole.
THE SIMPLE EXPLANATION: Some schools of magic (Destruction/Restoration) will advance about 3 times faster than in 'vanilla' Oblivion, while others such as Conjuration will advance about 1.5 times slower than their vanilla version.
THE TECHNICAL EXPLANATION:
Poking in the editor I noticed that the schools varied in their settings wildly from 1.0000 to 6.0000 advancement per 'target hit' and had no advancement at all from casting spells that 'miss'.
I simply set ALL schools of magic to the median level of 3.0000, and added a small 0.2500 per CAST skill advancement.
I do NOT consider this a cheat as, lets face it, a mage is 'easy' to level up with 'training spells' in his little shack in the imperial city (hehe), but the second he steps out the door and runs into a Dremora, hes toast.
