Idea of this mod is great and it generally works.

Unfortunately, I found out that it causes a random crash for me in IC Market District at night.
It doesn't always happen, but one night or another, often enough, it's gonna be there.

Nice mod but my potato pc with GTX 1080ti and ryzen 1700x and 16gb ddr4 ram cant handle it very well at all i get 45-60 fps with only oblivion reloaded, all natural and qarls texture pack loaded. sometimes its even more then a 15 fps drop :( i am using the 15 version as well. Oblivion only uses 1 core and is poorly optimized so i figured that would happen its not a fault with this mod just a fault with the old 32 bit game itself. Hopefully someday well get multi-core and 4gb+ vram support for oblivion.

Graphics cards is irrelevant for this and your CPU is bad... you should avoid Ryzen CPUs for games, especially the likes of Oblivion that rely on single core performance, but generally even those very rare games that do use more than 1-4 cores always have main thread most cluttered and most requiring so even if it uses say 8 cores you'd be better off with 4 core i5 with 20% better single core performance (even tho twice worse "overall" on paper) than 8 core Ryzen. Also RAM is not important, anything over 6 GB means nothing for Oblivion (game can use 4GB, but 6 is good so OS and background stuff doesn't take from Oblivion).

Generally unless you are doing some video editing or specific tasks that need a lot of cores (which is very rare, even besides gaming most programs rely on 1-4 cores or at least benefit more from single core performance much more than core count, even if they do use more cores) you never want Ryzen.

while i agree with everything you said @Petarnexus your also not considering that ryzen cpus are a great value based cpu with options for utility and gamers. The ryzen 1700x like i had back then is now considered old as there are the ryzen 9 3000 series cpus now not even including threadrippers.... but even so my old cpu still is ranked as overall one of the best for the everyday gamer on a budget performing better then the i5-8400 in every single manner while being cheaper except when it comes to single core performance in which case it is only slightly worse.... i was able to run a fully modded 32 bit skyrim with enb and tons of 4k mods and script/animation mods while using populated skyrim hell edition which basically does the same thing and still get stable 60fps at 1080p most of the time (sometimes fps would drop to 40-50 range in busy cities like solitude)

cpu should not be the issue here as most people do not have much better cpus then the one i had back then even now days....i think its less relevant i mean the mod was last edited in 2008.....my old cpu is definetly absolutely alot stronger then cpus back then even in single core performance....so how did the mod maker make this work with no issue using weaker hardware? questions to consider i think?

as you can see here even the i5-8400 is still ranked as a strong cpu for budget gaming by some

Sorry - But I'd take the Ryzen over Intel any day of the week.

I have the same performance issue and I'm running a Ryzen 3600 @ 4.2 Ghz Single core. This is the mod - and the engine, not the CPU. Notice how My CPU Thashes the one you mentioned. https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-8400-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-3600/3939vs4040

This is not a CPU issue.

Just incase new users find this mod and see this conversation and worry their PC can't handle this, or, if you did download this and are wondering why your game has half the FPS in cities in a few situations, don't worry it's not your PC's fault it's mainly due to the limitations of the engine. Nothing can really be done about it other than use the version that spawns less NPC's (use the 30 version instead of the 15 version in that case)

Hope that clears this up a bit for any new-ish users :)

So the 15 one has more people and the 30 one has less people?

It seems so. I think it refers to the chance of NPCs not spawning. So with 15 there is a 85% chance of an NPC spawning at each spawn point and with 30 there is only a 70% chance.

This mod makes my game crash whenever I'm in a town at night, espeically when I try to wait.

Try game patch called EngineBugFixes, it may solve your crashes as it solves many of them. But it might be something different. It's a good idea to use it though.

I can only wait about 3 or 4 hours at a time outside. 7 or more hours means almost certain scripted death for the game. I been doing all my waiting inside of chapels for the most part.

I cannot endorse this mod at the moment.

I installed the 30 version, and left the 15 version unchecked. I been walking around the Imperial City and not seeing any new people added. Is there a number of days I should wait until people start spawning here?

If it is added by leveled lists, then yes, wait for 3 days outside and far away of any location for it to respawn leveled lists.

Otherwise, consult this for possible mistakes during installation: https://sites.google.com/site/khettienna/mod-user-guides/mod-use-troubleshooting

Right after posting this comment, NPCs started showing up in Imperial City. They are the hunters, farmers, travellers, mages that I'm seeing... I hope.

Any chance that this mod will work with Open Cities Classic? I would really like to use both mods. Thanks.

Edit* Nevermind, it will not work with Open Cities.

great mod.tnx! combined with sounds of cyrodiil it made my game more immersive! just a bit of slowdown during loading. but no impact on performance.

For some reason I can't loot the new NPCs that walk around? Is this supposed to happen or not?

There needs to be a better cities compatibility patch for this mod
