I don't often make comments mostly as this is my boyfriends account but i just thought I would throw out there that this mod I think is supposed to make your character sound like a bad A. Personally I think it is much more impressive for a regular person who just got caught into the middle of a disaster who just tries to do the right thing to be a far better hero. I always mentally make my characters like the "average joe" no special gifts or military history. Most of my mental roleplays I do with my new characters are just people who got screwed over and the emperor is giving them a second chance on life. basically I am saying you should definitely have some stories and story options that A. work for characters of different ages. B. have gender specific options to diversify the options as well as add a mix of both sad and simple back stories. My most common roleplay for the start of a new game is a young girl who worked a simple job such as farming or the like who one days has a run in with a man who tries to force himself upon her. She defends herself and in doing so kills the man. She is sent to prison for murder. The emperor happens to pass through her cell and offer her another chance on life. She bonds with him and before he dies swears to do the right thing and so they start a quest to help people out. Then I do all the little quests that involve helping little people such as the quest with the guard in the imperial city. I like the not a great hero but a traveler who tries to do the right thing kind of personality and think that would be an awesome implementation into the options for the characters background anyways it is late now so I will stop talking hope my rambling at least gives someone a decent idea. After some use there is one thing I've noticed: this mod does not work well with Realistic Leveling. It implements drains in order to exhibit the negatives of your past. If there are any drains in effect when Realistic Leveling would increase your attributes it causes the system to abort raising your attributes until the drain is gone in order to properly calculate the attributes. Since this drain is permanent your attributes don't ever increase no matter how many skills you increase or how many times you level up. It's sad. I like this mod. I am currently trying to figure out a work around. Maybe adjusting it so that skills and attributes aren't affected and adding a journal entry as a representative and reminder or something but I don't know... *sniffle* It's a good mod too, but I'd rather have the leveling mod. T_T
have you found a solution by any chance? And, do you happend to know if it's normal for my starting attributes to be odd with RL? A high elf mage starts with 64 intelligence for example.. :/
Hmm, i choose to go with 'All +5 Attribute Modifiers' instead of the realistic leveling mod, it's a much more clean and simple mod and doesn't do things like ''updating my attributes'' and weirding out my leveling progression.. i guess it was just me who had the problems but i'd rather use this, it ellminates the micromanaging yet it feels saver to use to me, i know exactly what's going on in this mod and i prefer that, consider it
While I like the idea of this mod, I must ask: Does this conflict with any mods that alter the starting point of your character? In other words, if you have an Alternate Start mod, would it not acurately work because of that? MUST you leave the tutorial dungeon to access this?
After much searching, I believe I encountered one of the writers. Unfortunately, I found him face-down in Lake Rumare and covered in blood. A dead slaughterfish also floated nearby.
He had quite a lot of books in his pockets. It's too bad none of them did him any good against whatever it was that attacked him.
A little ways inland, I found the body of a man named Yorik. Still clutching his abdomen, his arm stretched towards a pathetic-looking dagger. Did he reach for the weapon to end his own misery? More likely, I think, he grasped at it in panic as the killer watched.
Who or what could have done these unspeakable acts?
One thing is certain, I'll be more careful around the lake from now on...
