Dark UI - Video Replacements
v1.1

by Hyperion_5 ([email protected])
===========================

Description

This mod simply replaces the two video files: maploop, and oblivion iv logo.bik files in your data/videos folder. I have modified these videos using various color correction in order to make them more compatible with the Dark UI interface replacement mod by Greybird, who also was kind enough to create darker loading screens as well. However, one element remained that was still very bright: the opening videos. I have fixed this. Basically, this mod is a thank you to Greybird (and the others whose work contributed like BT, Darn, Major Jim, wZ, etc.) for a great UI replacement. Now opening the game should have a seamless integration into the Dark UI. I have kept the original color scheme as best I could but incorporated the dark leather into it, as well as giving it a gold overtone which I thought very pretty and appropriate. I also came up with other color variants for these videos (still Dark UI), and might releas them if people truly like these and motivate me properly.

Installation
Hopefully you will also back up your original bethesday movies (I just put .beth at the end of mine).

Extrat the .7z file to your Oblivion data folder (directory structure should be intact already), but in case
something goes wrong, these movies go into the Data/Videos folder. Thats it!

Or better yet! Make an OMOD! Get Oblivion Mod Manager here: http://timeslip.chorrol.com/obmm.html

Note: If you wish to make your own that is fine; however, this 7z archive is converted from an OMOD I have already prepared.
Thus if you simply load it into OBMM it will convert back to an OMOD without any work on your part. You are welcome.

Uninstallation

Do the opposite of the above (i.e. delete them). Restore your old movies (if you kept them).
Or...deactive the OMOD.

Version History

1.0 Made the videos

1.1 Corrected the map loop video border being off, and cleaned as much of the video noise and compression artifacts (bethesda's fault) so now it is much higher quality. I also changed the logo movie to match the color scheme of the map loop and tried to clean its noise as well. The map loop is larger now than Beth's original, but the Logo movie is half the size of Beth's so overall file size should be about the same but should have *much* higher video quality.

Problems

I cannot possibly imagine why you would have problems (if you mess up video installation, at worst Oblivion will just skip the movies and take you straight to the game menu), but if you do, its becuase you simply don't have the movies in the right folder. Move them.

If you cannot open the archive you downloaded, you need to get 7zip. Its a .7z file.
