This small mod swaps the asset paths for the Palace Guard and Captain's Guard armors with Blades armor assets, also marking these armors as playable.

Description:
This small mod swaps the asset paths for the Palace Guard and Captain's Guard armors with Blades armor assets, also marking these armors as playable.
The armor stats and item names remain unchanged, so they differ from those of the Blades armor.
The guards retain their weapons - I did not replace their weapons with Blades katanas. No changes were made to the NPCs.
The mod also marks the items as playable, meaning you can loot the armor and wear it. Plenty of mods already do this, I saw no reason not to include this feature as well.

Compatibility:
This mod does not include any new assets; it only edits item file paths. Therefore, it should be compatible with any esp-less retextures.
Mods that modify the same armors can overwrite the changes. Be mindful of the load order. Fixing this is simple - adjust the load order using any mod manager software.

Why:
I created this mod because the Palace Guard design looks a bit ridiculous with its pearly white coating, while the game underutilizes it's actually good armor assets. Additionally, the Imperial Legion in Oblivion doesn't resemble the Roman Legion very much. Well, three birds with one stone! Now, the game makes better use of an excellent Imperial armor set, while also bringing the Legion a bit closer to the one we see in Morrowind and Skyrim.

Other:
I thought this mod would take me just a few moments. A quick 5-minute edit. Damn it! Turns out you can’t manually set paths as strings in the Construction Set, so I had to unpack the original game archives to access the files. Fine, did it, the mod works – but then the storm hit! Instead of a neat 3KB file, I ended up with 15 megabytes of bloated data. Just a ton of junk. The editor lacks the tools for editing of these files manually, and there was no way I was going to repeat the tedious work again just to get the same mess of an output again. So, I found the tool for .esp files, xEdit (TES4Edit). I didn’t figure out how to clean the .esp, but I managed to salvage it by cloning all the intended changes into a clean dummy .esp. And now you get a perfectly tidy mod file. Yay, f###### hooray.
