Bug report, I assume caused by 1.2/Shivering Isles: Edgar seems to think the entire Market District is his shop; he follows me around and tells me to leave at night.
That statement couldn't be any more false, I just recently saw a person on the official elder scrolls forums make a six page long thread about getting help installing 10+ mods. Not everyone out there actually knows what they're doing ">
I'm not a noob at the mod creation process, which I have been doing since Morrowind, if I had accidentaly mis-arranged the files I would have been able to correct the problem before launch.
I originally did create a BSA file but for whatever reason the textures would never show up but the models, sound clips, etc, would. I originally made one for Kumiko Manor that worked perfectly but I guess there was just something about this one that didn't want to work. So I simply included the uncompressed files into the installer and it worked fine.
I don't think there is any confusion here at all....
It's not so much that I prefer OMOD, it's just that, if the mod creator has the files properly arranged in the archive, then nobody should have trouble getting them in the right place. (Well, except for the fact that WinZip doesn't properly show the folder structure like WinRAR does...)
Anyway, it would probably be even easier if everyone used a BSA along with the ESP, rather than providing loose files. Then there would be no confusion.
I uess the reasons for confusion are a breakdown of communication on both ends. *sigh*
I know a fully automatic install is suspicious to some but I have found it to be an easy way to get information to the people who download the mod and simplify the install process. It puts all the files where they need to go, and shows the downloader the readme and FAQ files.
As I don't use OMOD myself I have never been into releasing it as that format, I'd rather release it in something everyone can enjoy rather than only people with a certain program can.
If you do prefer OMOD, you can simply tell it to install it to your Desktop and convert it.

Or if you insist on the install being automatic, OMOD?
Edit: Never mind, I just installed to a nonstandard folder, so I can see exactly what files I'm installing before I install them.
