Gee, it's almost like different mod authors made those fixes, don't have editing perms for each other's pages, and aren't in consistent contact with each other.
Nargo44, Mod author permissions. Highly likely it has been asked but without response or denial. In either case, it's safer bet to do their own. Plus, since this is a script extender plugin, and not .esp plugin, it doesn't affect mod limit, so the only real inconvenience is downloading two different mods.
Question about the ZLib fix. You say in the description that it requires a CPU with the SSE2 instruction set. Well, Intel introduced that instruction set in 2000 and AMD followed with replicating it in 2003, so it seems to me that pretty much any CPU we use today would have it. Especially since it has long been superceded by SSE3. The question is then: are you aware of any common CPUs that don't have it so that people would need to look out for it? Because it isn't easy to find out whether your CPU has this instruction set or not, unless you know your way around semiconductors.
Second question: what happens if you enable this fix but your CPU does not have the necessary instruction set? My guess - nothing will happen, the fix will be skipped, as this is the normal behaviour of a CPU when encountered an unknown instruction. So then, is there any danger in having it enabled? Have you had any negative reports? Anything to look out for?
Hi Lena. I don't think there are cpus in existance where the instruction set doesn't exist, maybe only cpu for embedded contexts that are unsuitable for gaming. The insturction set supported by a cpu can be easily getted using tools like CPU-Z or similar (or even a direct dmesg under linux). Some emulated contexts (virtual machines or projects like Hangover (wine on arm)) may lack support or having a issues with it, however I'm not sure. Support for the insturction set should be a virtual no-issue for all post 2010 non embedded (like Intel Quark cpus) and non Itanium 64 cpus.
In the case the fix is installed on a cpu without the support, the game will crash with an Illegal Instruction Exception 0xc000001d in the Event Manager.
People who tested it didn't report any issue. So all considered if you are playing on real hardware and not under emulation it's should be considered safe to keep enabled. Wine/Proton emulation (albeit it isn't a proper emulation but more a translation of the program ) is good.
This is nice, every little engine fix brings oblivion one step closer to someone actually fixing the crouching not reducing your collision box thing so that you can, you know, actually pass under things while crouched!
Well, it didn't have complex geometry until snus dungeons happened. Anyways there's a hole i should be able to crawl under in frostcrag and it has been pissing me off for what feels like 500 years now.
I know enough about modding to open up that hole if it happens to have crappy collision, but i don't know enough to port the crouch bounding box fix they made for new vegas over into oblivion!

I just tried it and now I cannot use screenshots. Is it because I have HDR and no AA enabled?
Is there a way around this?
That said, is there ever any situation where that's relevant? This game doesn't exactly have complex geometry
