    Hi

Could you add this mod to the remaster, including all the dlc npcs too? Thanks

Good mod, but wish it was scripted like from OBSE, etc, instead of needing to everytime via console.

Edit: my bad it seems we need to run only one time per save.

Yeah, you're right. It would have been better to have made it into an esp file or something. But it's better than nothing I guess. Also you do need to reload the command with some NPC's, as their essential status will turn off after some quest stages. All of those instances are detailed in the description. Most NPC's however will stay essential after using the command one time.

awesome batch file finally these travelling npcs won't croak due to a bandit attack or something on the roads (also it makes the wayward knight quest much less frustrating as farwil's dumbass won't get himself killed to put it in persepective how hard this quest actually is to keep farwil alive (even at low levels) i saw the message "farwil is unconscious" no less than 10 times (granted i didn't have any heal other spells so that may have made it harder))

edit: if you want to make the Knights of the Nine followers essential add the lines:
    setessential xx000F6D 1
    setessential xx000F6C 1
    setessential xx000F6B 1
    setessential xx000F76 1
    setessential xx000F85 1
    setessential xx000F84 1
    setessential xx000F67 1
    setessential xx000F7B 1
(where xx is replaced with where the esp is in your load order so for example in my case it'd be 1A as a tip you can use notepad++ to quickly replace all the xx's with the proper load order number)

Haha I know, right? There are so many NPC's that seem to to be hell-bent on getting themselves killed. It seems the Oblivion crisis takes a toll on their mental health and they just give up on life. We can do a lot with console commands, but giving them good reasons to live isn't one of them. So the next best thing is to just force them not to die =D

Glad to see this being updated! Out of curiosity, which NPCs have you added compared to the original file? I've done some of my own personal tweaks on the original, so I'm thinking I'm just going to rename yours to "essentials2.txt" and run it on top of my modified original. Thanks for doing this!

You're welcome! I've only added a few more. I made sure this entire list was covered: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Traveling_People

There were a few people from that list not included in the file, so I've added them. The ones who were missing were Dro'Nahrahe, Caula Allectus, Hlidara Mothril and Countess Alessia Caro. The only one from that list I didn't include is Alval Uvani, who you're supposed to kill during a quest. Other than that I also added Mirisa, Ancotar, Dubok gro-Shagk, Baurion, Vantus Prelius, Rellian and all of the Kvatch refugees. I also added the citizens of Blankenmarch, which were listed on the original modpage, however they were not actually included in the original file. Probably just an oversight.

Excellent work, and thank you for the detailed information! I'm glad I'm not the only one who still loves batch files like this. I hate losing NPCs to random nonsense. :D
