Very nice! I just wish someone would make robes that hangs from the shoulders down to the floor with no belt and that are closed. If there only were some good tutorial for how to edit meshes and make vanilla textures fit to new meshes....
Then I basically figured everything else out on my own/from watching tutorials. The tutorials weren't always useful because they weren't always the same version I was using, but I was able to piece together what I needed from the tutorials.
What version of blender are you using? I downloaded a oblivion version from here, but it didn't work at all. I had a full version before but removed it because it used so much space
About the race: okay. Because I would also like to see the races all with darker skins. Cyrodiil is supposed to be a tropical or subtropical place according to lore, so everybody should at least have a serious tan
I haven't tried switching to a newer version, because I know that this one specifically works with Oblivion right out of the box, and I don't want to try figuring out how to configure a newer version to be compatible.
These are so cool! Also I love that you don't have to have HGEC or another body replacer mod in order for these to work (incidentally I do have HGEC, but it's convenient for those who don't). Also love that these robes aren't overly sexy or show too much skin (nothing wrong with that, just not my cup of tea). Endorsed!
Actually, I cannot confirm if these will work without HGEC. HGEC is a requirement for Vanilla Gear Redux, where most of the assets in my mod originated from. The arch-mage robe should be fine for vanilla-only users, but there is a chance that the skin on the back of the mage robe MAY display incorrectly without HGEC. I'm not uninstalling HGEC to test it though. As far as I am aware, the skin is the only thing one needs to worry about looking messed up when mixing and matching body replacers and clothes, as the body replacers often use their own skin textures that will not map correctly over meshes that they weren't originally designed for.
The other, more minor, issue, about mixing clothes with body mods that they weren't made for, is a sudden change in the shape of your character's body. That's actually what lead me to learning blender in the first place and creating HGEC Blood Elves and Egyptian Armor as my first blender project. The original was made for Exnem, and I didn't like that when I put on the costumes, my body shape suddenly changed, lol.
Ah okay, I just assumed since HGEC wasn't listed as a requirement on the description tab. I use the HGEC EVE with the EBE body variant, so usually (unless some armor/clothes are made for like an A variant) there isn't usually a huge change in body shape when I download various clothing/armor replacers (I don't mind a little deviation).
Well still, job well done! I don't think I'll ever be using a different Arch-Mage/Mage robe replacer :)
I can confirm that the general mage robes do not work for the vanilla female body! You get a weird chest situation going on and a lot of clipping in the back. Thanks though, the pictures look great and I'll probably use this if I use HGEC!
It was a foolish oversight of mine to not list things like HGEC in the requirements. I have changed the requirements to reflect this.
Using this without using HGEC should not cause clipping on the back window of the mage robe. The robe takes up the chest and legs body slots, so the only slot left that could cause clipping in the torso area would possibly be the neck area of the head slot? What using this without HGEC would most likely cause, though, is misaligned skin textures on the exposed back flesh. Also, using this without a compatible skeleton will most likely cause the chest polygons to stretch infinitely.

The race is just a Breton that I gave brown skin.
