About this mod

This small plugin adds a moderate amount of items to primarily the merchants of Cyrodiil, as well as the leveled loot lists that can be found on NPCs and Dungeons. It is a personal mod that i have made for my tastes after being dissatisfied with merchant inventory. If you are looking for a gold sink, this mod should help plenty.

Description

This is a very simple Merchant and loot Mod. It adds new "Unique" enchanted weapons, armor, jewelry and clothes to the various vendors of Cyrodiil. This mod also introduces in varying strength new lines of potions, scrolls and spells for those not wishing to make their own but still retain their benefits, be it through loot or hard earned Coin.

All of this content is unleveled and can be found at any point in the game. I find this to be more realistic, and to be fair low level characters are very unlikely to make use of this material, given they will need to pay it for at exuberant prices they likely can't afford, or venture into dangerous dungeons to *maybe* acquire them.

This is a personal mod that i have used for some time. I am now releasing to the fine modding community as a means of critique, before I submit my larger projects.

Requirements

As of now, the only thing required is the base game of Oblivion and as of 1.2 OBSE. In the future i may extend the mod's reach to the Shivering Isles and *maybe* KOTN but it is unlikely i will ever extend it's reach to the smaller DLCs, like Vile Lair or Battlehorn Castle for example, as reception on those plugins in the community appear to be mixed.

For Wrye Bash users, the following bash tags should be used: {{BASH:Actors.ACBS,Actors.AIData,Actors.Spells,SpellStats}} - (Thanks to Dispensation for this knowledge!)

Content:

As of now, this mod adds the following:

70 new pieces of enchanted armor
60 new enchanted weapons
60 pieces of clothing or Jewelry

105 New Scrolls of varying strength
90 New Potions/Poisons (mostly potions)
75 New Spells

And finally: 4 new, rare and expensive, alchemist apparatus that dwarf even Master tier equipment in quality.

Not all weapons, armor or otherwise pieces are created equally. Some are more suited for low level, whereas as others are suited for Endgame. Their prices will reflect this to some degree.

Some items aren't as they seem, some will allow blessings upon wielding, others curses. It will be up to you to discern their nature, and whether their pros outweigh their cons. Take for example, the Sigil of Untethered Rage, sold by Edgar Vautrine in the Imperial City Market District. It is an unassuming ring, providing a small fire shield but a weakness to frost magic. That being said however, it is said that the bearer of the ring, given enough magical prowess is capable of summoning a Daedroth, albeit unbound to the summoner's will.

There are other similar items to discover within this plugin, some better than others, dependent on player build. Some items that can be bought or found could very well be considered Overpowered in the vanilla state of the game, but those of you that play on either higher difficulties or modded overhauls will hopefully welcome a small boost in power. Remember however, that NPCs can also make use of these new additions in certain cases.

In addition to new Items, The Merchants of Cyrodiil have also been given a boost in their generic inventory, so expect them to have more in the ways of generic items such as weapons, armor, clothing, staves, potions, scrolls, soul gems, ingredients, books and misc items. Some items are always going to present, such as Varnado having full suits of Iron and Steel Armor. Other times, Varnado may even have pieces of Dwarven or Orcish Material. All Content is unleveled; a small thing i feel to promote a little more immersion, and perhaps motivate the player to purchase something in the future.

Compatibility

All of the new items I have placed in their own chests belonging to their respective vendors, so on that side there shouldn't be any conflicts. However this mod does alter leveled lists and places spells into spell vendors, so if you have mods that alter the same lists and NPCs you will need a Bashed Patch to see them all correctly.

Install

It's only an Esp file so feel free to download and drop it into your data file. For the bashed patch you will need to download Wyre Bash and drop this esp file into the bash installers and install in the installers tab. For M02 Users just drop it into your downloads, install and enable from there. For Wyre Bash users please make sure to set my Merchant Additions above the bashed patch. BOSS and LOOT are unlikely to recognize this mod at least for a while but I doubt load order for this particular mod matters too much.

Furthermore, This mod has been cleaned with Tes4EditAutoClean. Should hopefully have no issues.

Recommended Mods:

Some of the names of the new pieces of equipment are quite lengthy in nature, so you would do well to have a UI mod of some description so that they may be displayed more clearly.

As for balance, I think Enhanced Economy does a great job of maintaining that player characters don't gain access to these more powerful items *too* quickly, but once again that is personal preference on my part.

Author's Notes:

Like I mentioned earlier I am releasing this to the public for critique and feedback. I do plan on updating this mod, especially since a lot of the numbers seen before you are uneven (which bothers me a lot) but before I make more additional content to find/buy I would like to gather thoughts on what I did okay and what can be improved.

In Future Versions I will likely overhaul the inventories of the various fighters guild smiths, thieves guild fences and some other lesser known merchants. After that I will in all likelihood start overhauling the inventories of merchants residing within the Shivering Isles. After this is done and assuming no fatal errors on my part, I will likely consider this mod finished.

Thanks for reading/playing, i do hope this mod breathes more life into this aging game that we all so love.
