using this spell could make a pop-up for "cathedral" selection (chose starting location, basically), this trigers the "cathedral" door activator so one spawns where one would when entering the "cathedral" through the door.
once this choice is made, the game can load the new interior but when loading your character, instead of loading the character you had, it randomizes. Resetting all game progress, inventory gets emptied and the player character gets randomly re-rolled. Finally, random clothes, money, and eating utensils then get added to inventory and the player respawns.
in ini one could then add an option for automatic character respawn and re-roll on death.
reason for the door is instead of setting a spawn point in the world (which can cause conflicts) one triggers an activator as though one is going through a door, that way you will spawn where ever that door would normally send you.
provider the activator still exists in the game world, this should work regardless of how that space was changed right?
The base idea to make away with the need of the door is definitely good. I'm not sure I can follow the rest of your explanation, I don't really understand what you mean. Besides, given how little interest this mod received, any further work on this mod is unlikely to be soon.
After 16 years, someone finally made this mod, despite the fact that I have been using it in Skyrim for a long time. Do you plan to further increase the number of spawn points and support alternative start?

...I don't know if this is feasible but:
compatibility workaround: a "Randomise Me" spell.

Basically finding a way to generate a new character whenever a spell is cast or the character dies: turning oblivion into rouge-like xD
or into a rouge-lite, if completed quests stay done
