I'm not entirely sure how this works. I have some mods from Dispensation's guide installed that suggest the BCF; I just don't know how it works. I placed the appropriate .dat files for the the mods in the Bain Converter file, but I don't know what to do next.
I would assume I'd right click the mod, but how do you find it in wyrebash if there is no plugin? The example I'll give is premium meat; it doesn't have an ESP so how do I locate it?
I'm a bit confused as to how to use this tool. I've installed it into the Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers\Bain Converters folder, but every mod that has a BCF for it, when I follow the Archive > Bain Conversions > Apply path, the "Apply" button is greyed out and not selectable.
Can't seem to get the BCF for TD_Beautiful gardens to work. I apply it in Wrye Bash, but when it's converting, I get the following warning: "An error occurred while applying an Auto-BCF. Maybe the BCF was packed for another installer?"
I'm also receiving an error with trying to apply the BCF for the 2K ver. I went in and deleted the screenshots, readmes and the meshes and it installed just fine.
Version 1.4: Added alternative BCFs for Light compatible Skeleton's 'SkeletonV5' file and TD_Beautiful garden - flora replacer for TES IV: Oblivion's 'TD_Beautiful garden 2K.zip' file. If you were having issues with these two BCFs not working properly, then try these new alternative BCFs which should do the same thing, but this time hopefully it will work. I also recommend grabbing the latest WIP-build of Wrye Bash from the Wrye Bash Discord server, as the 311 builds have fixed some BCF related bugs.
Thanks for the quick response I didn't even notice you rolled out an update I'll check it out but I had previously installed Light compatible Skeleton's 'SkeletonV5' but I'll try it on TD.
Hopefully fixed the TD_Beautiful garden - flora replacer for TES IV: Oblivion BCFs not working for some people. The issue was with the screenshots having strange Russian characters, that some systems couldn't handle or process properly.
Also hopefully fixed the Light compatible Skeleton - SkeletonV5 BCF not working for one person.
You can also delete the two extra BCFs from version 1.5 as they aren't needed now (TD_Beautiful garden 2K BAIN 2-BCF 2-BCF.7z and SkeletonV5-BAIN-49080-5-0-1648036451-BCF-2-BCF.7z).
EDIT nothing, nevermind. I was complaining about wrye bash because they have no bug report, then at last I realized that I had forgotten a patch of my own that was referring to the mod I was trying to deactivate
How do I apply the BCF for Light Compatible Skeleton? I installed LCS by copying over and overwriting the data > meshes > character folder. Wyre Dash did not recognize the files so it had to be done this way.
If an archive has a BCF, it can be converted for installation with BAIN using the following instructions.
Ensure that the BCF is installed in the correct location, Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers\Bain Converters. Also ensure that the archive(s) it converts is/are in Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers.
From the BAIN installers list, select the archive(s) to be converted (i.e., the source packages) and right click on the selected file(s) to bring up the context menu, and select Conversions to open the sub-menu.
Click on Apply to open a second sub-menu and select the BCF from it. There may be more than one BCF listed if multiple installed BCFs can convert the selected package(s). An asterisk ('*') is added to the end of a BCF's name for every archive it converts that isn't selected.
Optionally choose a name for the converted archive(s).
Once Wrye Bash has finished the conversion, the converted archive(s) will appear in the BAIN package list ready for install. You can now delete the original archive(s).
Thanks for the reply. My problem, however, is that the "apply" button is not selectable. Only "create" is. I have ensured both files are in the correct locations, both in their compressed formats (which I have led to believe that wyre bash is OK with).
Other BAIN conversions have gone fine, so I know how it is supposed to look. I used it on Harvest Flora, SB_WeaponDropFix, and Universal Silent Voice, each with no issue.
I think for now I will leave it the way I have installed now. If I run into any issues, I'll come back to this. What does the BCF change, anyway? Is there any way to directly change an ini somewhere to have the same effect?
All that the BCF does for that specific mod is create the Meshes -> Characters subfolders in the package so that it's no longer grey and can be installed normally in BAIN.

You apply the BCF to a package in the Installers tab of Wrye Bash.
I installed the archives like regular mods and didn't put them in the Bash Installers.
My mistake.
If it is a different version of the same mod package (e.g. an update) it will not match and the BCF will not apply.

If an archive has a BCF, it can be converted for installation with BAIN using the following instructions.
You could just try unpacking it into a project instead and installing it by creating the necessary folders for Wrye Bash to recognize it.
