About this mod

Makes deer hunting a profitable venture for the player, adding a few tricks to the trade along with a hunting cabin and an optional house tax system.

Permissions and credits
I find the lack of good deer hunting mods for Oblivion disturbing... so I made my own! This mod adds a lot to deer hunting to make things more interesting.

The Deer
Firstly, the speed of deer has been increased. They're pretty hard to hit without sneaking up on them. Deer also drop more items along with their venison: deer hides and deer hearts. Bucks also drop antlers.
A few things can affect the condition of these items as well! If a deer is hit with fire damage, its hide will become scorched and worthless. If a deer is hit with damage/drain health effects, its venison will become diseased and worthless. This applies to poisons that deal these effects as well (don't listen to Honditar, he doesn't know what he's talking about).
This mod also adds a new type of deer: White Deer. They are faster and much rarer than normal deer, harder to sneak up on and the items they drop are worth a lot of money. The White Deer resources were created by b3w4r3 and all credit for them goes to him.

The Spoils of Deer War
So what do to with all your newly acquired hunting trophies? In the Fighters Guild of every town you will find Hunting Stations, which you can interact with to trade the parts you loot from deer for cold, hard septims. You can also just sell them at stores but the Fighters Guild will give you full price for the parts.

The Hunting
You're not the only hunter in Cyrodiil. You may run into other hunters on your travels who will hunt for deer hides themselves. If the player is an evil bastard, he can kill them to eliminate the competition... but be careful, for some hunters you meet might wish to do the same!
Thankfully, you're not alone in the hunt. Outside the hunting cabin you will find a dog kennel. You can interact with this kennel to call your very own wolf companion who will accompany you on your hunts! If he dies, you can respawn him by interacting with the kennel again. He does not attack deer but he is very good at keeping rats and other wolves off your back while you track deer.

The Hunting Cabin and the House Tax
On the Black Road outside of Chorrol you will find your very own hunting cabin! It is located close to the end of the road, next to a small lake. The cabin comes fully stocked and all containers inside do not respawn. Inside a chest on the floor you will find some cool stuff, along with a unique bow. It's very light and has high durability so it can serve a hunter well. Little tip: In the vanilla game there's a chest below the dock in the lake and this chest does not respawn either!
Now, the house tax. Every day from 21:30 to 22:00 a script will run that will close the doors to your cabin. For the script to work, you must not use fast travel or the wait function between 21:30 and 22:00! To open the cabin back up, you have to go to Castle Chorrol and pay a tax of 100 gold. There's a Payment Station just outside the throne room that you can interact with to do this. The cabin will remain inaccessible until you pay the tax. Do not pay the tax while the script is running, or else the script will reverse your changes!
If you prefer to just hunt deer at your own leisure, use the "NoRent" esp file.

Compatibility and Recommended Mods
The cabin will likely run into problems with Unique Landscapes.
This mod was tested with Enhanced Economy, so you should probably play it with Enhanced Economy.
Mods that add more creatures, such as Creature Diversity, can make deer less likely to spawn and therefore harder to find.
A darker nights mod, such as OC Darker Nights, can make things a bit more challenging since hunting deer in the dark is pretty hard.

Good hunting, stalker!
