I uploaded this exact mod a few years back but the original creator of the mod reported me and the admin took it down. I insisted that the mod was not an impingment upon his work but he denied it. Beware!
That's pretty odd considering it's just an esp that deletes a few records. It's not a reproduction of anything released in OCC. Hopefully there won't be any misunderstandings about it.
It's a little bit understandable with context. For a long time, especially while Oblivion was still fairly popular, people kept asking Arthmoor repeatedly to remove them. It got to the point that it probably seemed like people were so annoyed by what was seemingly such a small part of the mod that it just became a pain to hear it through half the comments.
Most of the people that still use Classic over Reborn especially just want it to be as close to the vanilla game as possible, that's it. Perhaps if you make note of that in the description so it's clear that some people just want "Vanilla-Plus", so to speak. Like how people have different preferences with texture replacers and such, some people are just more purist like us in that regard.
Thanks for this! I never was fond of them myself, but I dealt with it because the immersion factor of Open Cities was too great to remove it, but those huge flags weren't one of my favorite things about the mod. Now I can enjoy it even more.
Yeah, it makes sense in Open Cities Reborn, since there are other changes. But if you're installing Open Cities Classic, it's probably because you want vanilla Oblivion, just with opened cities, yet there's still other changes anyway!
