As requested a version of our middle earth flora mod tailored for Tamriel.
90 percent of the textures are 1k. The original photos were high resolution therefor enabling us to keep reasonable detail without filling the games ram buffer up.
This is a mod that adds several new plant and groundcover models to give a real life feeling when your character travels about.
A high percentage of these models are 3d rather than the traditional flat nif type. We achieved this by remodelling meshes in blender to achieve a sense of realism. we have basically set certain plant models to appear on certain land textures. The beauty of this is the models are all grass models and will not cause an immediate crash to desktop rather than using flora plant models which have to be placed by hand.
Included, several groundcovers, short volumetric grass (in order that the plants/flowers etc can be seen) long grasses, dead grasses for balance, fern replacers in the form of new plants and groundcover ferns, bracken in the great forest and blackwood, horsetail grasses, gerberas, ragwort, bluebells in the great forest, Hollyhocks, loosestrifes and many more. This mod adds groundcovers to those bare areas, the grass ares will have more cover as well.
Instalation
simply unzip the file and place the data folder into the oblivion folder. overwrite if prompted.
set ini configuration as below
[Grass]iGrassDensityEvalSize=3 (or 2 if needed)
iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=20
this is important if you want to see all the models appear. lower this setting if you have performance issues but too low and you will have bare patches!
We achieved 60 fps through most areas with a reasonable gaming rig.
