About this mod

Allows you to turn NPCs into portable books via a spell

(Big thanks to the author of Punchinello; Part of why I made this mod was to show what it can be used for and to get acquainted with it for a much larger future project)

Adds the spell "Nickies' Book Transmutation" - you can get by buying it from Edgar Vautrine at Edgar's Discount Spells in the Imperial City or by using the console command player.AddSpell XX000ED6 where XX is the mod index of this mod.  When you cast the spell on an NPC, they will vanish and a book will drop to the ground where they were.  This book is a portable container for the NPC itself.  Pick it up, take it wherever you like.  Read it in your inventory in order to access the menu allowing you to release the NPC at your current location.

Really, really excessive use of this mod could lead to save file bloat, but honestly that would require you to store thousands of NPCs.  Not that I'm putting it past someone to do that.  Additionally, I only tested this mod with persistent vanilla NPCs.  Support for NPCs added by mods or spawned in dynamically is unknown / untested.  Note that losing an NPC book means that NPC is pretty much gone, please use carefully if you're doing a serious playthrough.  Please report any bugs.

NPCs by default do not change their behavior when exiting the book.  To add reaction behaviors, type "set NickiesBooksChangeBehaviorVariable to 1" in the console.  To undo, type the same but replace the 1 with a 0.

Updates in the future may include an ability to store many NPCs into one book and release them all at once.  Besides this, look forward to something exciting coming in the next few months.  I'm making a mod featuring The Invader which will put to use every esoteric part of Oblivion I've toyed with into a cohesive playable experience.  Anons from /v/ know what I mean.  I honestly believe it will be like no other Elder Scrolls yet made.  Please look forward to it!
