Is the 4x heavily taxing on the cpu? I have 8gb ram, gtx 1650, and an i5-10200h. Is it enough?

Can you please explain for the uninitiated what the default, 2X and 4X means please Kartoffels?

It would be much appreciated to understand whether I am installing upgraded textures versus 2K, 4K or 8K (if that standard even applies in these instances.

    Thank you!

4x, 2x, nx, etc. means that the base resolution is multiplied by that number 4,2,n.

      Example 4x:
      Where x is 256 resolution
      256 (4) = 1024 resolution (1k)
      Where x is 1024 resolution
      1024 (4) = 4096 resolution (4k)

      Example 2x:
      Where x is 256 resolution
      256 (2) = 512 resolution
      Where x is 1024 resolution
      1024 (2) = 2048 resolution (2k)

      Example nx:
      Where x is 256 resolution
      256 (n) = 256n resolution
      Where x is 1024 resolution
      1024 (n) = 1024n resolution

This is a more appropriate measurement than 4k, 2k, 1k because these numbers depend on the input resolution. Example in clothing:
      Shirt (1k), Pants (512), Shoes (256).
You don't want to make all these 4k, because the shoes are small and you don't get very close. So naturally by 4x model:
      Shirt (4k), Pants (2k), Shoes (1k).

Finally, I can download 4x horse armor. Of all retextures, that is what we need.

Thanks for making all of these upscaled textures.
I have all the packs you've uploaded over time and checked through all of them. I notice a lot of these are actually better quality than many of the standalone re textures, not only this but it sticks to the original feel of the game.

Maybe it's because a lot of the re-textures are old now but I removed a lot of mine in favor of these upscaled textures, obviously some are kept too.
Anyways I just wanted to thank you for these, I've modded Oblivion multiple times over the years and noticed the textures never really done great on the modding scene (most recent mods being from 2008 as one example), where even Morrowind overtook it (Despite it being older) and I struggled to keep everything consistent or covered. With your mods I've finally been able to cover pretty much every texture in the game and everything looks like a consistent resolution and nothing is out of place, even compared to other retexture packs I have alongside it.

I feel exactly the same way. It's funny, I remember all my go to texture replacers looking so much better back in the day, but now they look even worse than vanilla sometimes with clashing aesthetics and generally just being too noisy. I guess it's partly because it's all there was before as well as our standards increasing over time just as they did in regards to the vanilla textures.

It hurts to look at my old Morrowind screenshots because the upscaled vanilla textures I use now just look so much more coherent and natural than the ones I once used. Those old textures remind me of those old 256x photorealistic textures for Minecraft like this classic picture https://i.redd.it/2ioobk3vhgn21.jpg.

Now using the 4k version and I am more impressed. Even the normals fit = the bricks do look like they go outwards (not inwards) this time.
I am not sure if this was caused by your mod or what?
    I also use:
    1. RAEVWD - https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/20053
    2. RAEVWD OMOD Installer - https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/24701
    I am very pleased

Oh, yeah. This was in Isla Paradiso. I made a really bad resort. I'm doing a series where I play as my boyfriend with different lifetime wishes in the Sims 3.

I am very pleased with your work, Kartoffels.

    Using the 2K version atm.

I have also installed and run BethIni and the difference is absolutely unbelieveable. Details I have never noticed before. Shadows everywhere and so on.
    BethIni is here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4875

Thank you all guys for taking your time.

One little thing though - when looking at the landscape from either side of Lake Rumare everything looks like an indescribable matter?
Further away in the distance the landscape looks like a distant landscape.

I haven't tested, but the 4x horse armor and the vilelair/sithisrock textures seem unusually huge. Also, should the vile lair icons have been upscaled?

Excited to see these and KotN upscaled textures in game. Thanks!

The icons shouldn't be, whoops. xD

I'll upload a patch to fix that, thanks~
