Voyage: Deserts of Oblivion is a new world exploration, dungeon delving mod with survival aspects and multi-phased boss battles. In this mod the player finds themselves lost in a far away desert realm somewhere in Oblivion and has to explore its vast sandy wastelands looking for a way out. Along the way you will come into contact with a plethora of new enemies and monsters to fight, new armor and clothing sets to wear,  an array of new weapons to find, and unique locations to explore. Do you have what it takes to escape the desert and find your way home or will you become another victim of its deadly monsters and harsh sandstorms? This mod draws on some inspirations from the Dark Souls Series so its structure and exploration is most similar to that of Dark Souls 2.

Important Things to know: Gameplay and Features

Survival Aspects
Besides being a dungeon delving, boss battling, new world exploration experience, this mod introduces certain survival aspects as well. Be wary that whilst traversing the desert you can only use the wait and sleep functions inside saferooms that dot the vast sandy landscape. Torches and repair hammers can be fashioned using components that you find throughout the desert and can be created at saferoom crafting stations and will come in handy while trying to survive in the wasteland. Some dungeons are very dimly lit if not entirely pitch black, crafting torches or using a light spell will be necessary. Be wary of travelling at night time. In some regions, deadly nocturnal enemies will come out to feast on unsuspecting prey. The world that you will be exploring is a decent size. In-game there is no fast travel function or map. If you would like to have something in the form of a map then I will put a walkthrough map in the files section for you to download.

Objectives and Main Quest
As far as objectives go there is a main quest that you can complete that will allow you to escape the desert. Let it be known that while there is a main quest to follow you can explore the desert at your own leisure and there are many dungeons and areas that are not quest specific. Be aware that there is only one way to escape... by beating the main quest. Once you have begun your trek into the desert there is NO turning back so create a backup save before starting the mod. The mod is created primarily as an exploration and dungeon delving experience with little guidance and hand holding as far as quest driven narrative goes. If you are a player who is more comfortable with linear quest driven mods then don't worry, a walkthrough as well as a map will be provided in the files section that will give a description on how to finish the main quest and beat the mod.

Difficulty Modes and Recommended Level

The enemies that you encounter in the desert will all have varying amounts of health (they do not level with you) so it is recommended that you enter the desert with a character that is around level 25 (a rough estimate). Voyage: DOO features a difficulty mode selection. There are two modes to choose from, Normal and Explorer. In Normal mode the player is thrown into the desert bare-bones style and is stripped of all belongings and has to wait until the end of the mod to claim them all back. What you find in the desert is what you will use. Explorer mode is the opposite of this. In Explorer, the player is thrown into the desert but can keep all of their belongings. The mod was designed to be played on Normal mode but the choice is yours.

To begin the mod just look on your map around the Castle Anvil area and you will see a map marker for a location called "Beached Cargo" investigate the washed up shipment and activate the strange artifact. (once you have activated the artifact there is no turning back!)
