Do you think that similar update is needed for normal books as well? There is this Oblivion book jackets HD mod, but isn't it outdated as well? Just sayin'... ;)

Khem, khem, you wouldn't believe what I've been experimenting with... :D My laptop could use those extra FPS that are currently wasted on bad far nifs and too large far textures... But hold your horses, I'm still at a very early stage, with not a great rate of success, but once the seed has been planted, it will grow, even if it takes a long time.
My other projects are: - nearly finished retextured farm buildings; - nearly finished Redguards (I still work on their age maps, and apart from that I need help with assigning separate eyelashes to specific races and genders - do you happen to know someone who could?); - additions to Arboretum; - additions to Watch Your Step; - brand new hi res textures for ruins; - a few ideas how to breathe new life into Ubanga (by far my favourite mod). Enough to keep me going for months or years...
Unfortunately don't know anyone for Redguards, hopefully you'll find someone.
Well, that was a surprise that you took that task, and what a coincidence too :-) Well, I can only wish you luck with this endeavour, and with other projects too, those new textures sounds interesting. . . . SO FINGERS CROSSED GUYS AND GALS!!! Your most-important-mod-for-Oblivion may actually come to life one of these days!
:) Thanks. Yes, they are. Indeed, I put extra attention to their normal maps. For a while I wanted to make additions to the actual geometry (e.g for the red gems on Knights of the Nine jacket, or the symbol on Shezarr, but then decided it would be a tad too much extra data for barely noticeable effect.
