I like the idea of this mod, but there's one problem.  It makes the skooma dealers not want to barter with you if you have skooma on you... which doesn't make sense.  You bought the skoooma from them.  Why would they care if you had any on you? They'd be more than happy to sell more to you.

I forgot to add an exception for Nordinor and I can't prevent the mod-added skooma dealers from refusing to barter with you if you have skooma.

From an immersion-friendly point of view a skooma dealer is less likely to have troubles once (s)he got rid of the drug by selling it to you even if I understand your point of view.

I needed practice using xVASynth 2 - OBVA Synth, and I like your mod, so I spent the last few days creating voices for all dialogue lines and all possible races for your mod.
Would you mind if I uploaded the voice files on Nexusmods?

      Be my guest.

And glad to see you like my work by the way. :-)

Awesome! I'll upload it within the next few days. It annoys me so much that in vanilla Oblivion you can sell skooma to anyone you want. I'm glad you addressed this with your mod.

I also created a mod so you earn 100 septims per skooma bottle with one single click on a topic by the way.

This mod is uploaded: AI Voices for The Honest Merchants Don't Buy Skooma

I'm happy with my work, but I'm probably going to redo all of it with Eleven Labs AI in the coming weeks, because that sounds much better.

      @xenogearslucas
Yeah, do it please, because Eleven Labs AI voices are definitely sound a wa-a-a-y better.

The ElevenLabs version of AI Voices for The Honest Merchants Don't Buy Skooma has been uploaded. The sound quality is much better.

Good idea, thank you! But it must be said that it is implemented in an inconvenient, bad vanilla Morrowind-like way. If you follow the Morrowind modding there are several mods there that hide the drugs (skooma and the moon sugar) when you start the bartering (check out Necrolesian's MWSE Hide the Skooma for example), instead of making the player to dump them right on the floor in front of the merchant before making a bargain - that's very unnatural, suspicious and inconvenient. Perhaps you should do the same (I mean hide the drugs in the buy/sell menu with an examplary message "I quickly hide the drugs before starting to bargain.") in your mod? If it is possible at all without MWSE-lua scripting.

I only created this mod to add a bit of immersion to the game and given the number of mods with portable containers I assume most of the users store their skooma inside while using this mod.

EDIT: I suppose you will appreciate my spells to instantly hide and recover your skooma.

Great mod! It works as it should. I am surprised that it took until 2019 for someone to mod this into the game. This should have been a vanilla feature.
Though I think a more elegant solution would have been to globally mark all skooma as stolen items, that way it simply would not show up when selling items to merchants.
That way merchants won't psychically know that you have skooma in your pockets, and the guards would confiscate it from you when arresting you.

I know very little about how mods are actually made though, so modding my suggestion into the game may be more difficult than it sounds.

Glad to see you like my mod. I'm surprised too nobody had teh idea earlier.

Except if I'm wrong an item can only be marked as stolen if it belongs to someone else or a faction the player didn't join.

Does this include honest Khajiit merchants too? Can you exclude the Khajiit merchants from the list, since to them Skooma and Moon Sugar are actually culturally significant and whatnot? At least, for Moon Sugar?

Sorry for the late reply. The Khajiits react like the other merchants and I can create an alternative version where the Khajiits don't mind if the player has skooma. There is not any moon sugar in the vanilla Oblivion by the way.

Why would it take effect when its just on your inventory too? That's unrealistic, how tf do they know what i am carrying on my back? You could just make them refuse to buy skooma... Eh... ruined an otherwise 10/10 mod.

"You could just make them refuse to buy skooma"

Which way? Do you know anything about modding at least?

I didn't knew I could legally sell illegal drugs.

Sounds like Morrowind. I often thought about just that whenever I went shopping. Thanks.
By the way, do you perhaps know how well it plays alongside More Skooma Dealers? Do they have qualms about buying the stuff, or will they accept it as intended?

I never played "More skooma dealers". Did you check for conflicts using "Oblivion mod manager"?

At worst change the skooma dealers' class to MerchFence and you'll be fine.

Oh, I haven't checked yet, but if there's a conflict I'll follow your advice, and I'll let you know in case if you need this info for others. Thanks, mate :)
