Link at the bottom "TD_Alternative Books Cover goes to a Russian Website. So what books WERE in TD_Alternative Books Cover that were not "covered" by the other book jacket replacers you recommended?
Also, there is a MAJOR UNRESOLVED BUG that locks me out of the Mystical Emporium in the Imperial City if I install the Stronghold (Battlehorn Castle) DLC. I would love to use your beautiful book jackets for all the other DLCs, but you required ALL the DLC be installed. Boo-hoo!
Yeah the mod needs an update without cell edits. The books are quite large, so I had to reduce their size by editing their cell references.
I install TD_Alternative Books Cover on top of the previous book mods, as it also covers newspapers, scrolls, letters, parchments, crumpled pieces of paper and also book pages. It will also retexture the books that any mods add that are still using the vanilla base models (such the books added by the mod The Elder Scrolls Online Imports).
Fixed books sizes so they are no longer overly large
Added Filter and NoMerge bash tags, removed Names bash tag
Removed unused and unnecessary textures
Created a unique mesh folder path structure for the mod
Added missing book pages textures
This mod is now a filter patch, which means that you don't need all of its masters, provided that you are using a Wrye Bash bashed patch. So, you can still use this mod without having every one of the smaller official DLCs.
I know this is a necro, but literally all you hafta do is use any browser extension that lets you translate webpages. And if you're leery about viruses, I can personally attest said Russian website links to English Mediafire and I have the mod now and it's virus-free. I ran it through an antiviral myself.
For some reason I am unable to read or pick up certain books. I cannot read, All of Thieves Den's Journals, Battlehorn's Journal, Deepscorn's Manifesto Cyrodiil Vampyrum and Opusculus Lamae Bal ta Mezzamortie and Vile Lar's Treatise on Ayleidic Cities. I am able to read and pick up all other books and the books that progress quests as well. The mod is merged into bashed patch and activating it doesn't help.
I can't activate them. The little book icon appears on the crosshair but I cannot activate/read it and nothing happens other than the little book icon flashing.
Looking through this mod with TES4Edit, I noticed no conflicts. The books were also modified by Unofficial Oblivion DLC Patches. But all the changes are carried over. I'm also using bashed patch's Darnify Books tweak. But that doesn't seem to be the case either. However, I have found the issue. Looking closely, I found out the only books I could not read are the books with no scripts attached to them. I can read :
Greywyn's Journal
Drothan's Journal
Steward Diary
Drothan's Field Journal
Frostcrag Spire Memoirs
Because they have scripts attached to them that progress specific quests.
I cannot read :
ManifestoCyrodiil Vampyrum
OpusculusLamae Bal ta Mezzamortie
Treatise on Ayleidic Cities
Cap'n Dugal's Journals
Lord Jaren's Journal
Because they have no scripts attached to them and aren't needed to progress any quests.
I have no idea why or how this happens but it only happens with this book jacket mod as other book jacket mods function properly. A possibly quick and dirty fix would be to attach a dummy script to these books. I'm pretty sure only the creator of this mod would know better.
Restarted and doesn't work. Apparently manually adding the books in the player's inventory by using player.additem works. I can read the books added by commands, drop them and pick them up.
It only affects the books that are not added by commands. However I noticed that all the books that are 'naturally' placed in the world-cells by this mod is smaller than the default. Comparing the book added by the command to the one found placed in the interiors, The one naturally placed is significantly smaller.
Edit: Well adding a no merge tag to the esp file of this and rebuilding the bashed patch and loading masters of the save files , let me open the books, wish this would help anyone who come across this.

Looks really good! But would be nice if it had individual ESPs for different DLCs. I was forced to disable Battlehorn Castle because it's conflict with one of my mods, and now I am unable to use this replacer.
I saw your recommendation for the kotn jackets on Bevilex’s page, and what would really complete Oblivion book jackets is a high-def version of that mod.

I am pretty lost a really strange issue.

Yeah, I also saw your Leyawiin Woodlands fix (I follow bevilex's guide), thanks a lot for that, looks really swell.
