Okay, I'm at a loss. I hope someone can answer this...
I CANNOT get walkblessed to work consistently. Sometimes it appears in-game just fine, and I get the 360 vanity camera functionality, and everything is awesome.
But MOST of the time, it just doesn't seem to load at all! And so far I haven't been able to figure out what makes the difference. It seems random!
I'm using the Steam version I'm also using Oblivion Reloaded I have OBSE installed, and it's working for other OBSE plugins from what I can see I've swapped the OblivionLauncher.exe so it skips the actual Steam launcher now I've checked the .ini added by this mod. It looks good, I guess. Doesn't matter what savegame I load. Either it works when I start up the game on all saves, or it doesn't at all Togglekeys don't seem to do anything at all. I've also tried reassigning the toggle keys, and still no effect.
I'm going crazy here. I can't figure out why sometimes it works, but mostly doesn't. What am I missing?
I finally got this fixed. I'm not sure why Walkblessed was only working inconsistently, but I'm using the last official version of Oblivion Reloaded.
When I turned off the OR-based camera mode with the in-game menu, I was left with no ability to zoom, so I always left it on. Instead this time I turned it off in the OR config file prior to loading the game. Walkblessed (the Skyrim-view adjusted version) is now working consistently again. Whew!
However, my game now crashes on exit 100% of the time. Since I'm no longer using the Steam Loader, fortunately I don't end up losing any important configs on the close-crashes, so it has not been much of a problem.
To anyone wondering how you get your character to turn along with your camera in third person mode, with weapon sheathed on the newest version of walk blessed.
All you have to do is hold down your alt key and double tap z, this'll toggle the vanity camera from having the perspective rotate 360 degrees when moving without weapons drawn, to having the character turn along with camera via mouse without weapon drawn, and vice-versa.
Is the double tapping of Z meant to be that you are using the grab key? That is what it is mapped to by default. Does tapping z still mean anything if that is no longer grab?
I seem unable to regain control over having the 360 control of the character no matter how many times I tap Z, even as much as twice!
hold alt+double tap z (toggles camera rotate around character or character turns with camera). double tap z without holding alt switches shoulder left/right. these functions dont disable grab function
If you have installed ORC you must open ORC INI File in your OBSE folder and rewrite diagonal movement. DiagonalMovement=1 ---------> DiagonalMovement=0
Use wrye bash to install it, you can hook up wrye bash with mo2 as well so you can use both if you're really adamant on keeping mo2 in the mix. I personally swapped completely for oblivion eventhough i use mo2 for skyrim and it has significantly improved my modding process. Mo2 can have some trouble esp with xOBSE and it's plugins.
Everything is fine for me, except when I get on a horse in 3rd person view, then the turning is very slow/impossible. I have to toggle first person view and then back to 3rd person to fix the problem. Someone knows how to solve that ?
edit : if I use the oldest version of this mod that problem does not occur, but it's not ideal since I lose some camera parameters
If you use wrye bash you can adjust the horse turning speed yourself in the bashed patch under tweak settings . I use the numbers 80 for turndegree and 360 for RampUpPerSecond. I highly recommend wrye bash for oblivion modding.
In WalkBlessed.ini file, you can find the following command lines:
fVanityModeXMult=2.0 fVanityModeYMult=2.0
2.0 is the default value given by the author. I found 4.0 is good for my current mouse sensitivity setting. For your mouse settings, the optimized value could be different though.
@wkdRmffhwmqkseka you're a life saver. I almost went insane when I read that the problem was Northern UI when I didn't had it installed. Thank you very much!
you ever fix by any chance? Same problem. 2 actually. Using controller and the character wont run diagonally and 3rd person the camera moves slow while idle.
IF you have the weird sensitivity movement ( camera bug where it is hard to move around ) when your character is not doing anything while in 3rd person, then that means:
You have NothernUI installed and NEED to find the file NothernUI.ini by going through Oblivion\Data\OBSE\Plugins\NothernUI.ini Open NothernUI.ini
Search for the word, bEnabled ( which is under the word [XInput] ; For gamepad support.)
instead of:
bEnabled=TRUE
Set it to:
bEnabled=FALSE
I hope this helped since it took me awhile to find the solution.
Do not thank me, thank the user ladynurmana whose comment that helped me fix the problem exists on page 4 of comments when you scroll down.
bro can i make this third person view default? i mean game will always start up with third person view, i don't want to press any key for third person.
That fixed it! Thank you so much. This was really pissing me off as I kept trying to find something in the walkblessed.ini fruitlessly. What a relief! I'll also thank ladynurmana in her comment. :)
Not sure if this was asked or if people gave tips on this already but is there anyway to move faster when moving diagonally? The character seems to only walk if moving diagonally. Thanks and sorry if someone already put out tips. I followed most of them to change all settings and none seem to have fixed that problem.
FIXED. Didnt even have to use this mod for that matter. NorthenUi users using controllers. Go the gamepad settings were it says run senstivity or whatever, put it below 85. You'll run perfectly smooth in all directions.

What should I do?

I had to set my multipliers all the way to 25 to get it inline with my regular mouse sensitivity.
