Worked perfectly.... I stand near a river the turn my character around, my headphone became a speaker. I recommend you guy using this mod with Oblivion Stereo Sound Overhaul.
Note: you need to place the files in Oblivion folder, not Oblivion/Data folder.?
I'm using this with a 5.1 speaker setup and it's still the best solution for 3D sound. My sound driver has an option for 2 channel Dolby and I gave windows sonic a try, but this provides a more pronounced experience. One thing I noticed is that I didn't need to set the sample rate to 44.1KHz for it to work. Maybe that's a headphone specific requirement? Regardless, it's great and I really like how it's provides an Oblivion specific configuration!
MY GOD THANK YOU!!! I was cracking my head trying to get 3d sound to work on this game but you, you magnificent bastard, fixed it! i kept having the issue with the spell stuttering but that's no more
It works, but is it normal that some sounds are quieter or bit more muffled than before? Switching pages in menus and lockpicking are quieter in my game with this.
I could say this is the only mod I need, lol. Oh an dalong with Boom 3D software! https://www.globaldelight.com/boom/boom-ppc.php?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Worldwide-Brand&gclid=CjwKCAjwq_D7BRADEiwAVMDdHiIfwBq5vr___r2HD_QOuKzfv8nhZnBBaKrge2_LcphrHsgDh67MfhoCsoQQAvD_BwE :)
I really like the spatial effect this adds but the sound seems to be compressed, at least on my headphones. Much of the low end frequencies seem cut off.
Fallout 4 has its own 3D headphone sound mod that uses the X3DAudio HRTF wrapper, though the one hosted on NexusMods is badly out-of-date. This Oblivion mod (DSOAL) will only work with games that use DirectSound3D whereas Fallout 4 uses XAudio2 + X3DAudio.

A mod worth trying I'd say.
