Will there ever be a non-OMOD version released? I don't use OBMM, nor do I really plan to.

EDIT: After asking a rephrased version of this question on another mod by AkitoKuno and coming into contact with the prompt, courteous, and dedicated creator themselves, there is now a non-OMOD version uploaded that works right out of the box. The armor looks great, and the mod fits the game well overall. And, due to there only being two Akaviri ruins, the armor feels special and unique - unlike many an artifact Bethesda themselves have as the rewards of named quests. Thanks again, AkitoKuno!

Great set of armor really like the colors

You may want to smooth out the terrain in the location where the armor is found and fix the path grids bit. It was hard for npc get get around in the area.

Thanks for a great set of armor

The Akaviri seemed to be inspired by Japanese culture in armor weapons and architecture. The fact that they have Tantos, Wakizashis, and katanas. The only difference in armor is that they have round shields or the Blades do. I mean Samurais didn't use shields.

Akaviris didn't use shields either. In 2920 Morning Star you can read the story of a "friendly" duel that is taking place in the Arena between a cyrodillic prince who fights with a sword-shield combo against an akaviri one who fights with two swords in a gracious, impressive style. But the akaviri is not used to the imperial prince tactics because, as the akaviri Potentate points out: "We don't have shields in our culture...In our country, if you don't want to get hit, you move out of the way."

I guess that the akaviri had to change their warfare and then they started to manufacture persian? style round shields, but it was a late invention, similarly to the way samurai started to employ Tanegashima cuirasses as their local weaponry evolved with the addition of matchlock rifles.

The Blades cuirass is basically a roman lorica segmentata with silk thongs, more prominent shoulder pads and a leather neck cover with an intrincate decorative pattern so it gives some japanese vibes to it. The greaves feature a lamellar style lower body armor with lacquered steel scales interwined with leather thongs just like a true samurai armor. The gauntlets are reminiscent to a samurai han kote as well. Samurai used reinforced tabi socks, but the blades boots are are like lamellar boots with pointy turkish style shoes wich is kinda neat. The helmet, well, it's like a very tight kabuto with roman galea helm-style cheek covers on it's sides and a corinthian helm-style nose guard.

In Skyrim, they made some changes so the cuirass is less segmentated towards the breast area and to make it better fit the shape of an idealized torso. Oddly enough, the cuirass also features a yodare-kake neck cover (wich is meant to be tied to the helmet rather than to the cuirass itself!). They dropped the armguards to make it look lighter and more japanese. They also have tabi socks with steel shin pads. They also dropped the silk belt and changed it to a 100% european one for some reason. This can be attributed to local customs I guess.

This is more or less how they look in the Alduin wall so I guess Blades armor is actually an accurate depiction and so the akaviris are a mixture of elements from different cultures. So their armor is basically a samurai armor that followed the tendencies of more late warfare (a prefference for open-type helmets and more practical designs).

Emh, these are not akaviri. The akaviri that reached Cyrodill are the tsaeci, which are snakemen. Look for their pictures on internet. This is lorebreaking rip.

-Tamriel has in fact a population of Akaviri descendants, and, you see, there are no snake people running around

-The Alduin wall that depicts Akaviri warriors in Skyrim doesn't have any snake man on it

-all the undead and ghostly akaviri warriors you meet in Oblivion are humans (freaking Akaviri Commander Mishaxhi)

-the Blades faction descends from the Dragonguards who were the defeated Akaviri dragon hunters and invaders later employed as the personal guard of Reman I and they are not snake people, you can meet two of 'em actually in TES Online (Drake of shields and Drake of Blades)

-in The Elder Scrolls Online all the reports about the Akaviri written for King Jorun don't make any mention of snake people, only guys who wore creepy masked helmets (some of 'em with snake motifs) and they make specific mention of human-shaped greaves "Akaviri greaves always look like extensions of their sandal-like boots. I could never tell where one ends and the other starts." You know, if they are half human-half snake how they are supposed to wear pants and sandals just like the Akaviri armor style depicts?

The only mention of snake-people comes from "Mysterious Akavir", and the reputability of this book is frequently questioned against the 2090 series that represent the most relliable account of all the events surrounding the Akaviri invasion and, you see, there's no mention of snake ppl

Internet pictures? Dude these are fanart and randomly picked D&D art, not official Bethesda art. If you don't believe me just look at the Imperial Library.com wich hosts all the artwork ever from every game, ain't snake ppl there.

Damn, I didn't wanted to engage in a lore fight, but you forced me. My mod is a lorebreaking rip indeed, but just because it puts a set of rather elaborate Akaviri buildings in the epicenter of Cyrodill Province, how the hell they managed to build stone stuctures there? But whatever the case I don't care, Skyrim mods are lorebreaking as hell but nobody complains
