    Edited comment-

If you're a MO2 user even though you used wrye bash to install this, you still need to change the ini in the ini editor of MO2.

You can find the ini editorinside tools>ini editor. For some reason the ini's of MO2 overwrites everything so if you make a ini change, also check MO2

MO2 uses it's own ini files seperate from the base game.

You have to run Wrye Bash through MO2 for it to change it's ini automatically.

To add Wrye Bash to MO2 click <Edit> in the drop down menu next to "Run", then the "+" and select Wrye Bashes .exe.

    I love the design!

The only annoyance I find is that this mod seems to mess up the menu navigation with arrow keys. With only this mod active, I can't use left/right arrow keys to cycle through the tabs/pages of the inventory menu, I have to be positioned either at the first or last item of my inventory for it to navigate pages otherwise the left/right arrow keys just work as up/down arrow keys. This only seems to happen in the inventory menu and not in other menus like the spells menu and the journal menu. Also for the PC attribute menu the navigation in the skills tab is impossible, I can only select the first/last skill and cycle to other pages/tabs, but I can't select other skills.

    Anyone else has these issues?

      Thanks. :)
Is this with DarN or something else?
With DarN, apparently it's not new, missed this post in Reddit, with a later thread over there having a workaround posted to it. As those section of  code weren't modified for this issue (from memory), it could have been present in the original mod.
Won't be returning to Oblivion until next year, regrettably, in the meantime feel free to lodge the issue in bug reports.

Thanks for those threads, I hadn't managed to find people talking about this. Yes, indeed, that's the same issue I have, I hadn't even noticed it in the main menu as I never use the arrow keys there, but indeed they're messed up there too.

Well, even if not for a fix yet, at least I know that I'm just not going crazy. Surprised that more people haven't reported this. I was looking for some mods that improve in-game menu navigation and that's how I stumbled upon this. I wanted to use this (https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/49491?tab=description), which allows using WASD in the menu, which is exactly the kind of thing I wanted, but it must somehow imitate what the arrow keys do, because with Darn installed the WASD keys inherit the same issues.

Imgur: The magic of the Internet

I get this error when trying to use the Wizard on Wrye bash 312

    "Line 65: SelectSubPackage '000 core'
    Error:(Line 65, Column 29): Sub-package '000 core' is not a part of the installer."

Happens on Auto/Manual wizard and also when I thick 000 core then try, any ideas?

EDIT: using Wyre Bash 311 works just fine

How strange. Make any difference with the nightly?

BTMod package contains some of the DarN background textures which mistakenly make LINK think that Darnified is installed (the issue is not present with the original BTMod). Can the filenames/paths be adjusted?

Hi @slowpard, it seems there are 5 texture files in BTMod which are not referenced by any of the UI xml, yet there are lots of dds files referenced in ingredient_select_menu.xml which are not included! Looks something like a mess, or taken from a renegade BCF, yet that file is identical to the one in the original 2006 mod!
Try uninstalling, and re-install with those dds files removed from the 000 core\textures\menus\shared\ folder in the package. Any difference?

I will try later, but when I manually deleted the texture in question (shared_main_background_1_notile.DDS) it broke the UI.

Tried it here, and confirmed that no files break the UI, renaming did not help either!
These files are stored in a "shared" subdirectory, whereas the ones in DarN are stored in a "DarN" subdirectory. Perhaps LINK could use that, or check the existence of the file ingredient_select_menu.xml to establish whether BTMod is installed.

    Hello there

I am having a small issue regarding DarkUIdDarNBAIN2022, or at least my installation of it.

It affect the load menu, but only from the main menu, and it also affects the save menu not not in the same way. It doesn't seem to affect the loading menu in game strangely enough.

Any ideas how to fix? would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

    Nos

Edit: the only other mod i have installed is Oblivion Reloaded Combined

      Hi,
Unable to reproduce the artifact in the first screenshot, very unusual. May be an issue with directX or GPU rendering, the other two screenshots look fine. Have you come across any visual glitches in the game itself?

I am seeing the same issue on my save page. Don't really care, as I know I will have to overlook some things or I will never get to actually play.

Just installed the darn bain mod, looked great worked fine but I had chosen the small fonts and realized i was wanting the larger fonts so I uninstalled then reinstalled using the wizard again selecting large fonts. Now my game will not load, tried uninstalling again didn't fix my issue. I am at a loss anyone encounter this before?

May have went for help too quickly all I had to do was go into the INI Edits and select the font large.ini to fix. If I'd have read all the way the end of the discussion first I'd have figured it out quicker or not had a problem at all.

Updated the DarkUID system menus, including the load menu, which btw was facilitated by the bcf thanks to @Unmuzzled. :)

      Hi @Unmuzzled,
Thanks for the post that was- it's now gone! What happened?
There's obviously an issue with the load_menu, anything else you noticed would help as well for an updated version.

I've installed this in multiple different ways now - one issue I keep coming across is black text on the Skills page and over any aspects of the menu where there are hover-over popups - any idea what may be causing this?

I'm using the dark UI if that helps.

    Edit: Bug submitted.

The DarkDarn Bain has some bugs that need to be ironed out. There a couple spots where text is the wrong color (save menu and attribute descriptions from a quick look) as well as the aforementioned issues with Wrye Bash looking for .ini files in the wrong folder.

Comparing to screenshots of the original DarkDarn, a number of the menu colors aren't right either.

@snargel: Thanks for the feedback. Have you checked for other UI mods in the mod load? If you are absolutely sure nothing is conflicting, you may wish to provide screenshots indicating the problem areas, and, for comparison, include screenshots of DarkUId DarN installed from the original source, taken within your game.

Sorry for the extremely late reply, I was convinced that I had done something wrong on my end. However the same issue has happened again upon a subsequent install, again just default installation using the wizard in Wrye Bash: https://imgur.com/a/TaiNkxe

No odd menu colours this time around - in general it feels like Wrye handles this wizard rather unpredictably, in particular, the .ini edits even when they are checked in Bash. All my attempts have been on installations that didn't have anything else touching the UI.

Manual installation worked fine last time, so I'll just do that again. Hope this helps narrow down the issue.

Edit: Made a custom BAIN package from the manual install that's working as intended!
Should also note that I was not able to undo the ini tweak to fonts in Wrye Bash and therefore had to restore them to default manually to avoid crashing on start-up. The ini tweak I made for my custom package has the same issue. Not sure if this is a limitation of Wrye Bash or what.

Hi again, just a few checks before proceeding:
      Steam or GOG install?
It sounds like it could be a problem with how the Ini Edits are handled in WB.
Are you on a system where all the folders in the Documents folder are mapped to OneDrive?
Oblivion and mods are not in a subdirectory  of Program Files?
Oblivion and/or Wrye Bash are not crashing or generating bug dumps?
Running Wrye Bash as Admin could help to resolve the issue, but can cause others.
Might be an idea to consider posting over at the WB thread at AFKMods, the devs may provide better info on how to trap the bug.

      Of course!

      GOG install

OneDrive is installed but I've never used it and it appears to be empty.

Installation location is C>GOG Games>Oblivion HOWEVER Win10 with recent updates has a tendency to revert permissions on folders outside of Program Files to "read-only" regardless of how many times the user changes it. Could that be an issue? I've never been able to find a consistent workaround for this behaviour.

This Oblivion installation is relatively stable (much better than I had expected to be honest), considering it has UL and BC installed. I have the Messagelog mod installed and check its logs regularly - there hasn't been anything UI or DARN related from what I recall. Wrye Bash doesn't crash.

I'll give Wrye Bash as admin a try.

Just in general, I have never found Wrye's handling of ini tweaks to be reliable. I inevitably get issues, even if I don't do any manual editing. I think you may be right that this is an issue for the WB thread.

Ah, well then the read only tags on the folders is certainly an issue, and the Windows Upgrades shouldn't be changing them. Did you have a look at the workarounds from this thread?

Oh thanks, I do remember finding that solution a while ago! Unfortunately the change is system-wide so I didn't do it for security concerns. This may be one compromise I'll have to live with.

Thanks for going out of your way to help with the issue though, very kind.
