I chose the Essential only file, and Fast travelling still Resets adorin fan's inventory, deleting what I gave him :/ A homemade solution is just use Open inventory mod to remove the armor before Fast travel, but I wonder if the resets are happening because I did something wrong(?)
is there any mod to prevent Fast travel caused-Inventory Resets?
Please kindly explain to me, anybody. So this mod makes the adoring fan (who in Skyrim is hinted as a probable member of dark brotherhood in disguise) into a boy who can and will fight for his idol (us, the players), correct? But does he still have all the standard dialogue? And can we equip him with some gears of our own choosing, suppose we don't use the ebony armour esp?
Yes he can fight WITH you (not for you), he will follow you and all the basics, he will not die if his health gets low and will recover. No, you have no standard dialogue options, so you can't change his armor or give him another weapon (he has a steel dagger and common clothes I think in just the essential mod, thats the one I'm ussing); but I found out that you can use "Active Inventory Spell" mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/17497) on him to acces his inventory and change anything you like without problems.
but i have a suggestion....it would be good if he had a horse so he can keep up with the player because if the player has a black horse or shadow mere he cant keep up at all
how strange, might be a problem with NMM itself, try adding it through the oblivion launcher instead? Also, just in case, make sure to only enable only 1 of the 3 ESPs.
Was planning some thing like this. Before I install and run with it, want to ask if it resolves the main issue with this character: the respawning. Even if you use the Console, or a mod like Active Inventory Spell to give him good gear, it just vanishes off him in short order because he resets (he even comes back from the dead if you get him killed). He basically needs to be converted to a companion with inventory share, ideally.
Since this mod makes the adoring fan no longer respawn and instead makes him essential, whatever you give him stays with that instance of the adoring fan. In the vanilla game, if he dies, the game takes 24/48 in game hours to spawn a new instance, which is like a fresh copy of the original adoring fan, which lacks the gear and items you gave the first instance.
If he is already following you, he should be essential when you load your save.
If you selected an ESP with gear, you will have to fast travel / go through a door / something like that for him to equip the new gear, as oblivion companions won't equip things until either instructed to or a new area loads. So if a companion has iron armor and then you save and quit, install a mod to give them ebony armor, then load the game, the companion has the armor in their inventory, but no script for checking / equiping better gear is triggered until the player loads to a new area. This is due to the fact that loading games never added a "check inventory and equip the best" type of script for each of the NPCs when you load a file, only when you load a new area, presumably for improved loading from saves times and probably because the Oblivion Devs never anticipated anything changing between file save and quit to file load.
haha, some of the ESPs are a little overpowered in my opinion but id rather give people the choice, but the whole purpose of this mod is to get rid of that annoying moment when he dies and you have to go to the market and wait a couple days to get him to follow you again.
If you like the mod and run into no issues, don't forget to endorse it!

If he's already following me around, this mod will just change him in-place right? I don't need to respawn him?
