This only creates empty files. I tried this on DarkUI'd Darn OMOD They at least have the proper extensions, but no content. Ran as "pythonw.exe omodExtractor,py DarkUIdDarn.omod"
I use Oblivion Modmanager or TES-Modmanager to unpack/extract Oblivion OMods. Also the OMod data can be unpacked , if the Omod has a install menu. What can this tool do what the Modmangers can not do?
It's just to open omod files without any mod manager, to show the content and to extract like an unpacker. So you don't have to run a mod manager always.
But it doesn't work proper... It just shows (as I tried it) the first level of the omod content.
I like your idea. I installed all and it worked well with the 7z File manager (*.exe), because I have installed 7-Zip v1604 regular (and of course Python 2.7), but it hasn't worked with your 7-Zip Console (*.exe) file from your oModExtractor-48366-0-0-1.zip. Then the 7z File Manager shows all data inside, but only the first level. It's not possible to look inside a file or to open an image or text file out of 7-Zip as usual. I suppose the file format is not recognized by your script and so 7-Zip cannot recognize it. If I extract an omod-file there is a folder with all content, but all from the first level, also folders, is extracted as files without file format assignment. At least Windows recognizes it like that. I gave single files (jpg, txt...), known by name, the appropriate file format ending witch they had before, but it is not possible for me to assign former file folders back, who are now assigned by 7-Zip (or your script) as single files without an file format ending.
That's my non professional opinion. I like your concept and would happy to use your new utility, because always running Oblivion Mod Manager means binding pc sources.

I hope you'll find a solution.
