Mod Name: Rogue Mage and Scoundrel Outfits Revisited

Series: Clothing Building Block
Number: 13

Author: Myrystyr
Original Author: Naglio
Date: 20/06/2017
Categories: Clothing

Requirements: HGEC

DESCRIPTION

Hello, and welcome to my current prefered wardrobe for my current Stealth/Magic-type characters.

I like the original mod so much I simply had to give this clothing the value it deserved. While the chest near Vilverin is in a place that is unlikely to be changed by other mods, I feel it is always better to shop at reputable vendors. Or loot defeated opponents. There's also the fair chance I will include this clothing in a future compilation mod.

The following esps are included:

1 - HGECRogueMageScoundrelResource: new (a) IDs are made of each garment, and the chest, and the items are added to the chest. No other change is made. The optional esp, with amulets visible, was used as a base. This is a modders resource.

2 - HGECRogueMageScoundrelRevisited: Values are assigned and weights adjusted in accordance with the Couture Collection Formula. New items are made from the alternate meshes for Rogue Boots No Heels, Rogue Boots No Heels High, Rogue Mage Top Sleeveless/Backless, and Rogue Mage Bottom Tightless, and added to the respawning chest. The chest is added to A Warlock's Luck in Bravil. No other cell or worldspace is affected. Playable immediately.

3 - HGECRogueMageScoundrelWitches: This fashion trend is followed by a number of opponents you might meet roaming the dungeons and wilds of Cyrodiil. New female bandit wizards, conjurers, conjurer bosses, necromancers, and necromancer bosses are made, equipped with Rogue Mage/Scoundrel clothing from random lists. These opponents are highly noticeable, if not for their distinctive garb, or the fact they are of non-traditional races for their types, then for the fact they are slightly tougher than normal. Also playable immediately, but see Conflicts/Issues below.

The original ReadMe files are included for reference purposes, as is a copy of the Couture Collection Formula.

The optional meshes for EBE are not included.

CONFLICTS/ISSUES

The vendor chest is pushed far enough down and away that it is unlikely to overlap with similar chests placed by other mods you might be using. The Witches version adds the new NPCs to their respective leveled creature lists, and as such will conflict with any other mod that does the same. Whether you get a mix of encountered opponents, or whether your game crashes at any point, might depend on how cooperative your computer typically is.

The clothing was tested on a ZKEC Kaihen body, on one character of a stock-based race and another of a custom race, and no problems were encountered.

The clothing in this mod is intended for female characters. Some are based off stock items, and as such will revert to stock male garb if worn by a male character. The others are custom creations, and as such carry the Apparent Invisibility Of The Missing Meshes curse. You can tell the difference between the two by whether the icons are stock or custom.

Skimpiness Factor: The tightless-and-sleeveless combination is generally less revealing than stock items such as the female huntsman's vest or iron greaves. Although it is certainly more stylish.

Playtest Report: There might be some clipping of the boots, depending on which version you mix-and-match with what lower garments, and most probably if said garments are stock items or custom from other mods. The standard rogue boots and scoundrel gloves in particular go quite well with Hamsti's MCSneaky upper and lower halves (also available from A Warlock's Luck, if you are using my MCSneakyRedux mod). The custom lists the new opponents are equipped from have only a few items apiece, so while there isn't the range of the Casual Conjurers mod - http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45061/ - at least there is more variety and style than a plain old mages robe.

This mod was used alongside about 50 other mods, and the only problem encountered was some stuttering in the Chorrol worldspace; which I was already experiencing, and am fairly certain is caused by one or another of a small number of mods that affect cells there. Or maybe my laptop doesn't like having more than around 40 mods running at once.

My laptop doesn't like screenshots, so feel free to take pics of your characters using this mod. Upload them to this mod's webpage, and I'll verify the images as soon as possible.

IN CLOSING

This mod was created using the latest version of the Construction Set, and playtested with The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition. Although Shivering Isles and Knights Of The Nine were installed at the time, they are not necessary for use of this mod. Similarly, while OBSE and Elys Universal Silent Voice were installed they were not used during play. Nor was any other utility installed or used.

At first level, and after only 4 hours of play, my playtest guinea pig character had amassed over 20,000 septims from selling clothing and armour found in mod-placed containers all over the Imperial City. When she found this chest of zero-value clothes, she decided to wear them instead.

I was tempted to dynamically add these clothes to the Rogue Mage of the Anvil Mages Guild quest, but that would be a dead giveaway.

These mods are my way of giving back some of the fun I had with the mods they are based on. Thank you for reading, and enjoy your gaming.
