Short of loading a save from before you gave him the items or simply spawning the items back into your inventory via console commands, no there is not.
Console commands. =P Just hit ~ (under the esc button), click on his body, and type resurrect.
Or just make him essential in the CS. If you have the Construction Set (which is free) it takes seconds to do, (not counting the time it takes CS to load). Just load up the mod, find his name in the creatures section, click on it, and tick the essential box in the window that appears, then save.
He was already set to essential in the mod, but I hadn't accounted for the problem of Jake being already dead when you install the mod, so I'm uploading an update now that gives you the option to resurrect him. He will be essential again after you adopt him, too.
