for anyone wondering, this only affects the IC, take the modifications and apply them elsewhere.
no performance hit? okay, you didnt use any special lighting entity or any preventative measures to avoid complex lighitng situations, infact in normal play, guard torches will force most scenes with these lightgens applied to a slideshow crawl. the cast ranges need to be reduced to avoid overlap, there needs to be less of them in general, and also, an alteration to the torch cast radius, ensuring no overlap occurs, ensuring actual high performant scenes.
Thanks GBRPluss This is so great! In my opinion it brings a huge amount of immersion to the game! Animated Window Lighting System and Chimneys has always looked a little off when no light spreads to the surroundings.. If someone decides to make this work for all cities I will be a very happy man!
It looks to me like an industrious person could adapt the AWLS meshes to use this method. It would lack the randomness that this has, but it would avoid having to build everything from scratch.
I'd love to see this mod extended to other areas - it looks much more natural than AWLS (which was a great mod in its time), and the pools of light around the Market district look fab.
Does this mod render meshes and lighting of vanilla torches better than the unmodded game? Even with a high end PC Oblivion performance falls to a crawl when heavy lighting or several torches are in action.
Will the work on this mod ever be continued? I am looking forward to trying it out working globally in whole game world. If that's better performance wise than any other similiar mod out there I'll take immedietly!

AWLS is good mod, but it is HEAVY!
