    1/30/2023 works perfectly on xpadder version 5.7. If you encounter "Ranged check error", edit both files with Notepad++  and change the version:

    Version=2010.06.03
    to:
    Version=5.7

    Yeah, I know I'm 4 years too late to this party. I got it working using the instructions, but am still having some weird issues. pressing A is activate and crouch for some reason. B and Y are both jump, and depressing the right control stick is crouch and block. Casting magic with RB also switches from first person to third person. I did the Oblivion_default.ini change and swapped jump and activate. Could it be that I also need to change some things in the OblivionReloaded.ini?

    Hi first of all for some reason it won't open this files
    (Worst case I will map oblivion my self)
    Question!!: now how are you using the
    "2,4,6,8" keys on the D pad are they even keys
    I have the xbox controller for like a year and more
    Dident thick they are keys
    So what version of "Xppader" are you using to access them keys
    "2,4,6,8"

    Not sure whats wrong but the controls are a little wonky for me. To press like continue and take items it's using the right trigger instead of the A button. And the A but has to be held down to activate things which is very weird. How do I fix this?

    Controls messed up

    When I do something like cast magic, not only does it cast magic, but changes my view

    When I click the right analog stick I attack instead of changing my view

    I switched jump and activate, but they are still backwards in the game, I also switched what I needed to in the ini file

    Any ideas what is up?  When I hit those things with xpadder pulled up, all the right buttons are active, but they don't all work right in the game

      That sounds to me like Oblivion is still trying to use its broken build in Joystick controls

      You can put these files anywhere, you just need to open them with xpadder (a third party app that is NOT free).

      Any idea how I import these files to my xpadder? I cant copy and paste them because xpadder only accepts text pasting. I cant "open.." them to xpadder either because the xpadder doesnt show/recognize them in the file path. So confused and frustrated.

      Any help would be appreciated.

      Edit: I think there is something I need to setup because when i open the xpadder its blank and says "<--- Click "New" to create layout or "Open" "
      help please!

      So I was able to get it working a little by double clicking on "Oblivion.xpadderprofile" which opened the profile in xpadder but i still cant use the file called "Xbox360.xpaddercontroller" because it says its not associated with any file and i don't know how to associate it. So it works a bit but I cant select anything with my 360 controller. the joysticks on my controller work in and out of game but i cant do anything but move around and attack.

      Okay, turns out I was supposed to open it through the little picture of a controller not the little picture of a wrench on the right side. everything is working now. im super stoked

    Edited because I figured out my problem -- I'd forgotten to do the Oblivion.ini setting.

    This is pretty cool only thing is I downloaded the profiles and everything but it won't allow me to actually import them for some reason. I get a error "Range check error." For both. So I'm curious is there by chance a way to manually set the profile up on my own? I'm assuming its fairly easy and possible?

      yes you can. just follow the controlls i listed above, and or the picture.
      Range check error sound's like it doesn't like the analog sticks to me

    How well does this work with the interface? Are you just using an analog stick to control the cursor or does it let you got through the menus like on the console?

      You CAN go through the menus like on console, it works for all menus except for the Dialog menu has a bit of problems when moving the left stick up (It exits the dialog) and the Quest Acquired menu for some reason doesn't work. but other then that the menu works the same.
