The mod works well with the Steam version of Nehrim (you don't need to install OBSE and Blockhead, they are already included). Look at tlc44's post below, or use Mod Organizer 2 (with a little tweaking): the key is Archive Invalidation. EDIT : I advise everyone to use the wonderful SkyBSA to have the BSA work well.
I will replay Nehrim with my mod and try to fix the little things that have been reported here or that I will see in game. ^^
A external link to the Newsea Hair Pack is given as the original author has not reuploaded it yet.
For anyone trying to get this to work with the Steam release of Nehrim, these were the steps I took:
-Download the prerequisites (just the three different hair mods ---- OBSE and Blockhead are already included in the Steam release); go ahead and set these archives in some separate downloads folder
-Extract the hair archives (specifically the Data folder) into the OBLIVION folder on the drive you installed Nehrim on (ie "E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion"); I reiterate that this is the Oblivion folder, not Nehrim (the Steam release renames your actual Oblivion folder as Oblivion Backup when you're in Nehrim mode)
-Download the main ORN file and extract the esp and BSA to the data folder of the Oblivion directory (ie "E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion\Data")
-Download WryeBash and install it to the Oblivion directory; open it up and activate all of the data files (Nehrim.esm, Translation.esp, and ORN.esp ---- make sure they are in that order!); click into the Installers pane and right click anywhere in the blank space, make sure that BSA Redirection is checked
-You can click on the Oblivion icon at the bottom of the WryeBash window to launch the game; good habit to launch the game from WryeBash from now on
clicking on the oblivion icon at the bottom of gives me a pop up for obse_loader saying I should be running the game from steam. When I run the game from steam or click on oblivion.exe directly the game immediately crashes.
I have followed your steps exactly; however orn.bsa isn't displaying in the installers tab; should it be?
The hair "Aeterna 09" seems to be marked as CLOT (clothing) for me, when it should be HAIR. Nothing game-breaking but it doesn't show and causes one or two more warnings.
Edit: The problem is basically mentioned in the comment below as well. OrnAeterna09 and OaKDACloCrownDia both have the same formID, which causes issues with them overwriting each other. Since the chance of an update to this mod is next to zero, the best thing to do is to use xEdit to alter the ID of one of the two (I just changed it from ...4E to ...6E) and update the references yourself. It should be relatively obvious which one refers to which.
I've followed the instructions above, but Wrye Bash still reports an issue with this mod:
Record Type CollisionsThe following records override each other, but have different record types. This is undefined behavior, but will almost certainly lead to CTDs. Such conflicts can only be fixed manually, which should usually be done by the mod author. Failing that, the safest course of action is to uninstall the plugins. Note: the FormIDs in this section are relative to the whole load order, not any individual plugin. To view the records with these FormIDs in TES4Edit, make sure to load your entire load order (simply accept the 'Module Selection' prompt in TES4Edit with OK). • 07013D4E from ORN.esp, colliding versions: • OrnAeterna09 [HAIR:07013D4E] from ORN.esp (base record) • OaKDACloCrownDia [CLOT:07013D4E] from ORN.esp (base record)
I'm also somewhat confused - is this mod not integrated in the Steam version already (at least the NPC faces)? Odd that that isn't documented in the changelog.
Is this mod only for Nehrim, or is it also for Oblivion? It's categorized as Oblivion but people are talking about how to use it for Nehrim. Please let me know as soon as you can. Thank You.
A mixed bag, to be sure. I absolutely adore the extended main character creation options and unique outfits for NPCs. However, while it is true that ORN is more lore-friendly than most facelift mods (which often just turn everyone into super models), I still think that some hairstyles are a bit too anime-ish. A monk e.g. doesn't have his tonsure anymore but instead a full mane, even Celebro turns into a bit of a pretty boy...
Most of them are good though, especially Arantheal, Amanda, Taranor and Vanmiria. The faces definitely have so much more character with ORN. I did run into the occasional glitch (some characters, e.g. travelling merchant, and cloaks were surrounded by a strange "sprite outline" shimmer, so to speak); the oddest of those being female Kim, whose slave outfit had strange "needles" (long thin textures) sticking out of her feet. I'm also not a huge fan of Kim's redesign in general - I do like the scar, but don't particularly care for the whitened skin, and her physiognomy is deep in uncanny valley - which may be the intended effect, come to think of it, because she is an Aeterna? But it makes her high-approval grin look downright retarded, and she is unfortunately the most prominent NPC in the game.
Mind you, this is all on the GOG version, so I don't know whether that changed anything. I wonder whether it's possible to only use certain redesigned characters and not all of them?
PS: It seems odd that you can't wear amulets beneath a cloak - I think it would be better to just disable them graphically.
Has anyone figured out if there's a way to make Robert's Female Body override HGEC properly? I've tried diferent combinations and load orders and I can never escape the grey/mismatched textures phase, although the underwear does change to that of Robert's.
You probably need SkyBSA for archive invalidation and to get past the BSA timestamp issue. But yes, it would require an English version of Oblivion unless someone is willing to translate the mod.
i shoudnt have installed this bcuz i thought is it for TESIV Oblivion but its for Nehrim game only for f*ck sake. gettin missing nehrim.esm error upon starting the game.
