Please read through this troubleshooting FAQ first and browse back in the comments before asking for assistance. I'm unable to respond to everyone and troubleshoot due to the high volume of traffic this mod gets, I plainly don't have enough time for it, so I need everyone to be proactive and double check your installations yourself before you comment.

Problem: My characters have googly eyes!
-> You have a conflicting cosmetic mod that replaces the default eye mesh with one that uses different texture coordinates. OCO needs vanilla eyes, so delete everything starting with 'eye' in the folder meshes/characters/imperial. If you have installed other mods via NMM, usual culprits are: -Beautiful People -Eye replacer mods -Eye addon mods
Problem: I'm getting the 'Install Blockhead' error text even though I installed blockhead!
-> You may have attempted to install OBSE and/or Blockhead through NMM or OBMM. Don't do this. Both of them have to be installed manually. Go over the instructions for both of them once over. -> You may be running a Steam copy of Oblivion. Check this for help.
Problem: My heads are looking strange and nothing like the screenshots! / I have black eyes on every NPC!
-> Run Archive Invalidation [info] in Oblivion Mod Manager, Wrye Bash or Nexus Mod Manager (and get in the habit of doing this every time you install or change something) -> Check for the presence of following mods: -COBL -Beautiful People / MBP -Hair addon ESPs (non-wig) -Eye addon ESPs -> If any of those are present, try moving OCO to the bottom of your load order. If things still look weird, remove the conflicting mods altogether (complete uninstallation needed)
Problem: I'm getting an error from the ZIP archive / I can't open it!
-> Sometimes Nexus servers do weird things and downloads can get broken on the way down. Try redownloading the mod - if you still get errors, come back a bit later when the servers have stabilized, there's nothing I can do about this.
Problem: I downloaded this other mod that adds NPCs and everyone looks really weird!
-> NPCs that have been made for vanilla head model chargen can have odd results with OCO - unfortunately in order to look on par with OCO's characters their heads would need to be manually restyled in the CS with OCO active. If you do this with a mod, please share the ESP if you can so others can benefit from it!
Mod reuploaded w/ integrated tweaks
Changes: -Merged eyelash and Khajiit texture pathing fixes into the main installation -Reduced bug-eyedness on Dark Elves -Added a better head shape for female Nords if you've been totally satisfied with your OCO setup prior, you don't need to download this. It's aimed at new users.
If you see this
it's an intentional error message and means you have an incorrectly installed or missing Blockhead plugin.
THIS IS FOR ALL PEOPLE HAVING THE INSTALL BLOCKHEAD IN THE FACE OF THE CHARACTER.
I've been battling with this issue for 3 days, searching everywhere and didnt find a solution, so here is what I did and worked wonders for me, so I'm expecting it to work for you too.
I use Windows 7, Oblivion GOG version.
I tried this with only 2 mods installed.
0. I had read in the forums that OBSE needs DirectX 9 from June 2010 to work properly so I installed it just in case.
1. I followed the install of OBSE + Blockhead, both last versions. To make sure that Blockhead worked properly I launched the game via obse_loader.exe and made a char, got to the prison, etc, closed the game and checked that there's the .ini file in the Data\OBSE\Plugins folder, and there it is. Worked.
2. I installed the body replacer underwear exnem-something(whatever I guess xd) using OBMM. Installed it second after the OBSE cuz thats what the first page of OCOv2 says, good body before pretty face.
3. I got VORTEX from this mods site and made it work with OBSE using THIS guide. I had set Archive Invalidation / BSA redirection ON.
4. I installed the Unofficial bug fix mod from HERE The reason why i did that first is cuz I didn't know if it would or not replace files from the non-potato faces mod. This is a personal preference so you might skip, idk.
5. I installed the OCOv2 using VORTEX. I think it shows Conflict with the Unofficial patch, there you just make the OCOv2 load after the Unofficial patch / Unofficial patch load before the OCOv2.
6.Launch game via OBSE, BUT WAIT! Not by clicking the .exe in the folder, not by using the game's launcher in desktop, NO! why? Because its going to show a "can't load dll" message.
You remember the step nº 3? well, if you do then you should have OBSE in the Dashboard, so you are going to find obse loader in the VORTEX Dashboard, and there is where you are going to launch the game from, by clicking the litle triangle in the OBSE box.
I hope it helps you. I don't know if some of this is unnecessary, but it worked for me after trying to install via OBMM the OCOv2, also tried the NMM as advised by the main page of the mod and it didnt help.
And thank you Zjaer for the nice step by step (even with pictures).
You are correct that the way the Unofficial Oblivion Patch is designed to be used is for other mods (such as this one) to take precedence over the UOP.
Something that people need to keep in mind with this mod is it was last updated six years ago, and a lot has changed with how people install mods in that time (Vortex didn't even exist and Nexus Mod Manager was the one that was supported by the site). I can't say for certain why the later versions of NMM don't seem to have much luck installing this mod, but NMM is now a community project and Vortex is the Nexus supported platform.
- Edit - And thank you to the moderators for pinning this post ... much appreciated.
Has anyone had issues with NPCs added by other mods? A bunch of Better Cities NPCs have completely mismatched bodies and I cannot figure out what's causing it!
Using SkyBSA and Seamless has fixed all of my other issues, and I've tried moving all OCOV2 .esps below Better Cities but the weird bodies remain.
t's a not a mod but archive invalidation not working and the BSA timestamp issue. Every new install of Oblivion will always have the BSA timestamp issue. SkyBSA changes how Oblivion handles .bsa archives and archive invalidation. This should fix your problem.
I'm having the same problem, and tried SkyBSA. The SkyBSA.log file seems to indicate that it's working properly, but the faces for Dunmer, Orcs, Khajiit and Argonians still look vanilla (the latter two identical to vanilla, the former the eyes are updated and the shape is different but the texture is still vanilla). Eyes don't look the way they're supposed to on Altmer or Bosmer, either. I also installed this from a disc old enough to have a T rating printed on it, so all the files in my install not from mods have timestamps from 2005, 2006 and 2007 (presumably the 2007 ones were modified by the official patch).
I have HGEC Body, and installed in the proper order (HGEC -> OCO -> HGEC compatibility)
For some reason my male Altmer ears are bent towards the skull instead of sticking straight out like Dunmer and Bosmer ears. Anyone know why this might be?
Considering it edits every NPC on the game, you should be using the bashed patch with this mod to resolve those conflicts. Otherwise, the mod can be used as a texture replacer without using the .esp. Also, Oblivion Character Overhaul - Advanced Edition does exist.
ngl mate I refuse to use Wrye bash after failing (for literal HOURS) to get it to fix an issue I have using the seamless versions of this mod (even just using seamless OCO has neck seams but at least they are not very noticeable) and HGEC together something the mod author says is possible to do (the only one I have is the head is a completely different color to the body on everything except khajiits and argonians and junkacc11 is absolutely no help there keeps saying its archive invalidation issue even though I have it enabled, and I have skyBSA properly installed AND I followed all the instructions to the letter). At this point I've completely given up on trying to fix it after trying literally everything I could think of (and i tried both vortex AND MO2 same issue on both) I'll just live with it it is less noticeable on certain races
I'm beginning to think Oblivion modding is more trouble than it's worth at least on the body replacer end maybe I'm cursed to either deal with the ugly potato faces or have mismatched heads (or perhaps my computer just sucks and this is entirely a hardware issue)
You need to know that UAC can prevent things like archive invalidation and SkyBSA from working, which is why your install location is important. It's best to put Oblivion Retail/Steam/Gog versions under a subfolder in C:\, such as C:\Games\Steam or C:\Games\Oblivion, etc. to avoid issues with user account control. The root of C:\, program files, and some other locations are UAC protected.
You can actually pair this mod with "Seamless", which comes with Robert's Body, fixes neck seams and includes a full outfit replacer. Check it out at: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45859
The description instructions on the main page are hell-bent insisting on using NMM, etc.. is Wrye Bash perfectly fine now considering the description hasn't been updated for so many years now? Will it automatically take care of everything via the installer tab?
Wrye Bash is best for Oblivion, yes. The author's user account was closed long ago and thus parts of the description are really outdated. You will still want to get SkyBSA to fix Oblivion's archive invalidation and the BSA timestamp issue, especially if this your first texture based mod that you are using.
Body replacers are type of mod that replace vanilla bodies. This includes HGEC, Roberts Male, Roberts Female, ZKEC, etc. When installing a body replacer in Wrye Bash, you need to move the package before OCOv2 so that OCOv2 can overwrite their contents. If a yellow bar comes up, you'll want to right click the package and select 'anneal all' to match your current configuration.
TLDR Bretons and Imperials have vanilla textures for some reason.
Running this mod with a clean install and its dependencies does not fix the issue. Im running up to date win10 and have the game on steam, i use TesMod Manager for oblivion but have also tried installing manually with no change to the problem
has anyone else encountered this issue and found a solution?
Archive Invalidation is not working / BSA timestamp issue. The easiest solution is to just simply install SkyBSA as it changes the way Oblivion handles archive invalidation and BSA archives.
it works, thanks looks like TesMod manager is not as reliable as i was led to believe as i have SkyBSA in my mod list but it just did not install correctly

How do you make the breasts bigger? Not really an A cup kind of person.

Or just move Steam to another drive like I have.
meshes\Characters\highelf\earshighelf.nif
Missing: textures\earshuman.dds
there's a texture inside textures/characters with that name, so try copying it a level higher
Where exactly are you saying to put the earshuman.dds file? It's not quite clear.
