1. DESCRIPTION

***************************************

With this mod you'll gain a new companion, one strong and skilled enough to take care of any threats that you could stumble upon during your journeys. So, as soon as you have recruited him, you'll be free to poke anyone in the eye, then run and hide behind good ol' Dillion and let him make sushi with them.

***************************************

1a. FEATURES

***************************************

Name: Dillion.
Race: Gidheal (modified Breton).
Class: Battlemage
Level: PC level offset -1.
Equipment: Complete set of medium armor, a sword and a shield.
Location: Cheydinhal Bridge Inn.
Surprises included: there shouldn't be any, but I wouldn't put my hand on fire upon it.

***************************************

2. REQUIREMENTS

***************************************

Oblivion with latest patch.
CMPartners Basic Mod http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/7819 (and all its own dependencies).

Optional: Astymma's Head06 fixed .tri file, http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/33683/?

***************************************

3. INSTALLATION AND UNINSTALLATION

***************************************
I recommend using Wrye Bash for both installation and uninstallation. For manual install, unzip the file and drag and drop the included Data folder to your Oblivion installation main folder. To uninstall, delete the cmDillion.esp and all the following folders (and the files within, of course):
Data / meshes / characters / Gaidheal / Dillion
Data / textures / characters / Gaidheal / Dillion
Data / textures / menus / icons / armor / Dillion

***************************************

4. PLAYING

***************************************

Using the mod manager of your choice, activate the cDillion.esp and start the game. Then, go to Cheydinhal and enter the Bridge Inn. There he is, socializing. Unless he has started a riot, who knows.
Unlike his older siblings Alroy and Cethlenn, Dillion is not affiliated to any Guild. He goes by himself. He's a powerful mage, one the greatest wizards this side of Stephen Strange, but for some reason, in all my testing play-thrus with him, he has always refused to use magic and instead preferred to finely mince everything that gave him a funny look. I suppose it's normal. He's a Gidheal and you don't mess with the Gidheals. Seriously, don't piss them off. It's bad for your health.

5. BUGS, INCOMPATIBILITIES AND NOT-SO-FUN STUFF

***********************************************

There's a little bug here, but not really in Dillion. Let me explain myself: I used Throttlekitty's Head06 mesh for his head, and the original .tri file makes everybody who has this head to smile in a relly horrific way, but fortunately it's easily fixable: just download Astymma's fixed Tri file (http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/33683/?), unpack it, take the included .tri file and place it in Data / meshes / characters / Gaidheal / Dillion / Head06, overwriting the file that is already there. So, Dillion will smile in a more charming way.

6. RESOURCES USED AND CREDITS

***************************************

Body mesh: vanilla. Thanks, Bethesda. However, all the Gidheal are intended to be played using Robert2 Body Replacer.
Head mesh: Throttlekitty's Head06. Thank you, you're gorgeous.

Body textures: vanilla, idem.

Face Texture: In order to give Dillion a more personal look, I used the facial texture taken from Robert2 Male Body Replacer v5 http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/40532. Alas, this texture is not suitable to be used with Head06, so I had to bake it using xNormal. Since I hadn't the faintest idea how to do it, I ran, sobbing, to Throttlekitty, who gently explained to me how to do it in a way that I succeeded. Thanks, Throts, have I told you yet that you're gorgeous? Well, that's not the end of the story. I tweaked the resulting texture to make it even more customised and plastered a tribal tattoo on him. And a stubble. I love stubbles.

Armor meshes and textures: taken from Wikinger9048's terrific Medieval Armor Resources pack http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/20877, a MUST HAVE for any modder. All I did on texturing the cuirass was to paste a celtic knot (the same that is in one of Alasdair's Skyrim Gubbins shields) over the cuirass chest. Danke Schn, mein Freund!

Sword mesh and textures: Vanilla. Silver, I think.

Shield mesh and texture: comes from the Skyrim Gubbins resource pack by Alasdair and the Skyrim for Oblivion Project http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/26339. No words can describe what you can find inside this pack. So, I decided keep using these resources and show them in all their glory. You rule, mateys!

Of course, a gazillion thanks to Blackie for the CMPartners mod. There are other Companion Systems out there, but I'm sticking with CMP. Period.

7. PROPERTY AND USAGE

***************************************

This mod is not my sole and only property, because I used so many resources. So, if you like what you see and want to use those armor and weapons on your mod, don't aske me: go and grab the original resources, and pay their creators the respect they deserve.

And do not, ever, upload this mod elsewhere outside of TESNexus without my permission. Don't even think about it. I know where you live.

Tools used:

- TESConstruction Set and TESConstruction Set Extender
- NifSkope
- Blender (the software, not the shake-maker)
- xNormal
- The Gimp
- OBMM
- Wrye Bash
- Gallons of icy-cold horchata. And hand-rolled cigarettes. Lots of them.

THANK YOU! SO LONG, AND THANKS FOR THE FISH!!
