Use Oblivion Script Extender. I launch the game through OBMM.

Maybe you could try playing as a vanilla race until the sewer exit. Then, make a save right before it, and then change your race using the normal options at the exit.

You have updated the mod several times, if you could please put in the description what the updates are, just a quick overview would be nice, thanks

    Exceptional mod, well done!
sorry but now for a couple of bugs/glitches, during character selection, if I scroll to a child race then on to any of the adult races I am unable to change the eye colour, I played around with load order and disabled all added races still the same thing happens, I have 187 mods running, if I find the conflict I will let you know (the process of elimination continues). There is a conflict with alternative start if this mods loads after it. I have your mod loading just after OOO's esp. The advent world is awesome!! but I do get occasional mesh tearing, its intermittent and seems to be linked with OCR (Open cities Reborn) but that's not confirmed 100% yet as there should not be any conflict but when OCR is disabled the tearing ceases.
As a point to note when using OCO (Oblivion Character Overhaul) the mutant races are even more freaky, but the child races do not look that appealing, like shrunken emaciated adults, please understand that is not a criticism of your mod only an observation, I look forward to seeing all the facets of this amazing mods, so far I am happy to say there have been no conflicts with DR6+UVII so far.
Suggestions - marksman bonus for all Elvish races (especially Moonshadow elves cos that's my fav!!)

Silly wish list - re-model the human child face meshes to be more appealing

All in all a superb mod!!! you have my endorsement!

I greatly appreciate your support. I will try to reproduce and fix the problem with the eyes, however I found the same problem was with other mods that added races and believe it is in some of the settings. what is the conflict with the alternative starts? I will try to support oco as well. Marksman bonus will be included in the next release.

EDIT: The bug with the eyes is an engine problem. You will have to re-open the race menu using the quill I've added, then set the eyes to what you would prefer. Don't forget to click "reset" on the face since the game will re-arrange it and may cause it to look abnormal.

Thanks for the swift reply, the glitch I found is; if your mod is loaded after alternate start, you are dressed in the default prison outfit (instead of travellers clothes), and taking off the clothes resulted in the body mesh disappearing, its not really a problem as long as AS loads after this mod. thanks for solving the riddle of the eyes, and as for the marksman bonus - you are a star!!!
P.S. love the battleground! but I must remember to be armed with more than a dagger before entering.

well, I added a spell to give a special arrow. summoning it uses all your magicka. every race has this available. it's not really a marksman bonus, but If it doesn't do the trick, let me know and ill modify the base skills to the woodelf race. moonshadow elves aren't included in my mod, so i'm unable to support them without editing the other modders work. I have difficulty getting blender to work, so I have to stick to altered facegen data for children. some of them look nice to me, but tell me which ones don't suit your taste and ill give them another try. btw, oco is very nice. but the mutants didn't appear too much altered by it, only slightly, for me anyway, so if you could elaborate more on the oddities I will fix them.

I totally understand about the Moonshadow elves, they're my favourite because they pull that "Grrr" face at just about everyone and that makes me smile, but a special arrow is brilliant. don't worry too much about the child faces, it would take extensive skill and time to totally rework the facegen data , it was more of an observation than a real "you must do this" request, as if I am honest I would only play a childlike avatar as the occasional novelty rather than an on going game. And forgive me for not being clear about the mutants being "Freaky" I like them like that as you said the transformation is subtle between vanilla and OCO but noticeable nonetheless, but its good to go round and scare people (drop in npc disposition just because your a Mutie pehaps?). please don't feel you must change every little thing, bugs - yes, my pedantic observations - just take under advisement, this is yours and yours alone, its not up to me or anyone else to dictate how it should be. Your support for this so far has been beyond all expectations, you have produced a remarkable mod and it will stay in my mod list!!

This is not a monster battle mod. Battlegrounds are two different teams fighting. There are Gatekeepers (Evil) vs. Mythic Dawn (Good). i felt like mismatching so don't ask why the Mythic Dawn are labeled as good. If you select good then you are on the Mythic Dawn side in the Sanctum Battle.

I forgot to mention something. When I tested it I also went into water and my character couldn't draw a breath (the head couldn't go above the surface). I only tested it for a little bit so I'm not sure if I was just unlucky or something.

only way i have found to work around the setscale bug is to keep pressing jump. i will try to find an alternative during swimming and post it in the next release........EDIT: Children now have waterbreathing.

I believe I read somewhere that anything with a height (size) less than .85 would result in "drowning". I think the only way to address that would be to replace the skeletons. Of course, doing that would affect every npc in the game.

children have larger heads and different proportions, can you possibly alter that or it isn't really possible?

set the race weight to alter their proportion. you can change facegen data to get larger heads but it is difficult to get it perfect.

I tested the child race a bit and it's pretty good! I love that you even tweaked the encumbrance. I only tested it for a little bit so I couldn't tell,it only adds the race and doesn't change anything else, right?
A very minor problem (which is natural) is that, when sitting, the character kinda sinks in the chair. I know that it's not your fault, when changing the size of the character only custom animation (I guess?) can work properly. Maybe it could be done via scripting too but I'm not sure.
I haven't tried it yet,can child NPCs be made with this?
One more question, are you planning on tweaking the voices too? (making them high-pitched or something)

Well done and I'm impressed that you did this with no extra files, just the .esp. Endorsed.

thanks for the compliments. i will see if i can do something about the sitting. it also does add in a few children, i can post the listed locations if you want. as of right now im not planning on adding in custom voices, unless another modder wants to provide them for me and ill put it in a seperate esp.

That would be great, and thank you for the swift response.

I do have a question about the child-races that you use... Are they just shrunken down adults (in other words, do the females still have busts) or are they actually made to look more like children?

Excellent, on both counts. Most of the child mods just change the size, not the body form. You might consider taking one of the mods that places children NPCs in the cities, and altering the body type to proper children, like you have.

Just so you know, you would get much better attention for your mod if you gave it (and the files for it) more descriptive names. Perhaps something like "Respawn and Overhaul". It is a fun idea, playing that way, and I might give it a go, after I have played through normally.

Great idea. I was going to include them in various places, so i guess there's something for 1.6. Any other suggestions would also be a great help. Thanks. I'll change the name once i get to 2.0 and finish the Beta stage i suppose.

Well, if you are looking for suggestions... You might consider posting the separate Acrobatics perk Levitation, and perhaps a version of the children, having them in the cities, as separate mods, rather then with the files of your overhaul. You would still include those in the overhaul, of course. I can just imagine that quite a few people might be interested in those separate parts that wouldn't be interested in the full overhaul. You have some cool ideas included, like being a bounty hunter, and the strength skill perk of being able to wield two-handed weapons as one handed. I did notice that you added perks for just about all the races except Breton.

still lacking in the racial abilities for nords and bretons, unable to think of any original powers for them....As for your request, the child race only mod is finished. It still uses the sub-menu. Let me know if you want that changed.

Hmm, people usually choose to play Bretons in order to be some mix of fighter and mage, such as battle-mages, or mage-knights, or perhaps an alchemist. At least, that is why I always end up choosing Bretons. *chuckle* Something useful and appropriate to Bretons might be an alchemy related perk, and some boost to longsword, or some other such combination.

For Nords, they are often barbarians, or other types of fighter, if you could figure out how to pull it off, a perk that allowed them to practice their fighting skills when an enemy isn't present might be cool, if nothing else perhaps summoning a creature to spar against? Either that, or perhaps a weapon-skill or endurance related perk.

I am more interested in seeing children in the cities, then in playing one, though I am sure there are people who would find it of use. From what I have seen, there is usually a problem when playing a child race (or anyone excessively short) that involves drowning when you try to swim.

*looks at the available files* Ah, mind control... What form does the mind control take? Command humanoid and command creature are built into the game (and are supposed to force the target to fight for you), but that never worked at all well for me. (I was trying to get the Master's Tissue Compression Eliminator (his weapon) in my TARDIS mod to use that, and it really didn't function properly at all.)

bretons have an ability now (updated description). 1/3 magicka expended into damage on a successful hit. complementary to their racial magicka but kind of OP. which i don't mind since it comes to the same result anyway......as for the mind control, you basically play as the character, but alot of animations dont fully function, so it's not perfect....correct about the swimming, have to keep tapping jump, i guess children struggle to swim in cyrodiil??...in the future i will probably give them a face lift and add more around.

Ah, I like the Breton ability, appropriate to the fighter/mage tendency, and something I have never seen before. Nice.
