It seems to be a nice mod. But RazaCovek is right; at the current state they would be just better looking targets. Why don't you place some of them at safe places, where some plants are in the towns for example? The Elven Gardens in the Imperial City would be the perfect location.
@RazaCovek: so so sad... but i can imagine a few solutions including: a friendly spriggan faction (not every creature in nature has to be hostile right?) on this one i think a certain Xenius Dryad Race mod has an option for animal friendship but im not sure if it includes spriggans. Another idea is related to another mod presenting playable creatures and creature NPC races, it would be nice to have a spriggan companion working with the companion mod scripts but that mod is more a manual than a mod, so it needs a lot of work.
@dubiousintent: thank you for the advice and thanks for putting my mods in the page!
Agree on that. Won't any kind-hearted modders please make a mod that renders the Spriggan race friendly? Or at least neutral? I am always against killing nature loving ladies!
Thanks for the clarification. Added to TESTG under 'Oblivion Flora & Fauna: Creatures'.
When you try to maintain a list of other peoples work, you seldom download anything unless you have a direct need for it. And you quickly learn that most people are lazy in their terminology, which is why we found it necessary to create a glossary to help them understand the correct words to convey and understand exactly what they mean. Terse explanations can hide a lot of joy and pain. All races have meshes, but not all meshes are for races. Creators usually have labored long and hard, and in most cases have had to teach themselves, so they often take for granted an understanding that others are lacking. (Programmers suffer the same fate.) If your description is murky, then it fails to entice downloads, and it doesn't matter what your included documentation clarifies.
Just some free advice and perspective. Worth exactly what you paid for it.
its just like bugged said, i thought it was clear its just meshes, and by no meaning a race, if it were a race i would have uploaded it in the "races, classes and birthsigns" category
Its very simple, no requirements but the vanilla game, just plain meshes not textures.
Anyway if you didnt get it from the description, it means it could be clearer so ill hear you and put something even more explicit.
It doesnt add any race or even new texture! - The File is only a mesh replacer for the spriggan creature to look better. No race, no texture, no .esp file. That is all clear from the readme if you ask me.
It's not clear from your description if this is simply adding a creature or a playable race. Also, are there any technical details people should know about, such 'hi-rez' (and which resolutions are provided) or if it replaces or is a variation of any vanilla races, or requires a particular body type replacer or other mod? While some people might be interested in trying it out simply because "it's a spriggan", I'm suspecting the majority of others would appreciate more detail as to why they should want to add a spriggan to their game.
Respectfully: it's not enough to post a pretty mod; you need to sell it's appeal if you want it properly appreciated. The description and images are the tools by which you accomplish that. Don't you think your hard work deserves a little 'marketing'?
FWIW: I came here intending to add this to the list of available race mods on 'The TES Texture Guide (TESTG)' [http://testg.wikidot.com/main], but the lack of detail disqualifies it (for the moment). You're welcome to take a look at the 'Oblivion>Characters>Bodies and Races' page [http://testg.wikidot.com/oblivion:char-bodies] to see what we consider useful information. (If nothing else, it will give you an idea as to how to differentiate your mod from others.) I'll revisit the question when the description page gets updated.
