idk, this mod doesn't appear to break anything for me or even make the area laggy (my rig is from ~2015 and my game is heavily modded) I'm not about to download some random guy's "fix" from google drive (LMAO) to get rid of the floating wood piece that I think I did see. also, the author of the "fix" closed his account. I'm speechless, hope those people down in the comments enjoyed being part of a botnet
amazing mod, I wish I could endorse this twice or something
probably one of the most unhinged comments i've read on here in a while
and as if that weren't enough, did you even look through the "random guy's" modding history? they were an established modder with no reason to do something malicious, your brain is cooked if you jump to a "botnet" lmao
Hey, I wanted to give a fair warning to anyone who considers downloading this mod. While it definitely provides a very nice amount of extra detail to the location, it also does a number of dirty edits to vanilla records that may mess things up in your game.
For example, the mod aims to give each Hackdirt resident a unique set of "cataract" eyes, which is done by directly editing the vanilla Imperial race; this, of course, is a big no-no, considering that it can very easily conflict with other mods that edit the Imperial race.
Also, this mod undoes some fixes done by the Unofficial Patch, resulting in such stupidity like the shop owner trying to kick you out of her shop during the time when it should be open. And there are some other issues too, like how the mod does not change the navmesh of the locations to take into account the newly placed objects, resulting in NPCs trying to walk straight through them.
I made a fixed version of the ESP file that removes the edits to the NPCs, races and so on (leaving only the environmental changes), and fixes the navmesh and other minor issues. You can get it here: Link (Also includes a fix for one of the book models that was meant to be static but could still be knocked out of place.)
Note that you still need the BSA file from the mod's main ZIP file for this to work.
Yes, adding it onto Nexus Mods is free, and easier for us to use and will get way more attention. But if you've fixed the mod, that is absolutely awesome. Thanks for your work! I just downloaded it.
Thanks for the fix... downloaded to my phone and will upload it o the game later... maby this will be answered in the Readme but is this fix a stand alone mod.. or is this a patch that requires the original?
If anyone wants to remove the fog you can do it easily by going into TES4Edit and removing the "activator" tab, and going under scripts and removing the mist script. Everything else seems good with this mod, but the fog effect was very subpar, even worse when you use an ENB as it makes the mist glow blindingly bright.
Thank you for this, this should be stickied. First time ever editing a mod in this way (usually I just clean dirty edits) and it worked. Fog was unrealistically bright. This mod genuinely brings this place alive and scares me.
This usually comes as a result of Shivering Isles. Some SI inhabitants such as the Auriel and Mazken have that same error message when you summon them and try to talk to them in Tamriel. This also affects many NPCs from SI, if they end up in Tamriel they may have the same error message - it's the way Beth set up the conversations for the SI expansion.
A possible reason you got that error is maybe you came back to Tamriel from SI without using the gateway (maybe through the console or something). Try consoling yourself back to SI, and then coming back into Tamriel through the gate? I found that it cleared the problem (when I occasionally got it) and put me in "Tamriel Mode" again.
Soldierboy2b and anyone else who had this problem.
I noticed when I went into the CS after installing the file for BBB, the 4 characters who belong to Hackdirt above ground don't exist in the esp's character list so there is no dialogue attached.
If you just install the main file, it will be normal and they have dialogue again.
I am having the boob stretching problem even after I overwrote the bsa skeleton by overwriting with corronerra's maximum compatiblity skeleton but I have vipcxjs' high heels system as well so this may be what I get. I will keep trying things.
Otherwise, Drahenne, this mod is fantastic!! I love what you've done with their eyes!! XD I listened to Shadow Over Innsmouth, the bbc audiobook on YT and I am so glad that Oblivion woke up those of us to it who had never read Lovecraft! <3 Thank you so much for making and posting this mod! I am totally using it with HD - The Deep Ones too!! <3 I can't wait!! XD
Okay, to answer my last reply, the boob stretching thing. I used the non-bbb main file and then overwrote the bsa's skeleton with corronerra'a in the Oblivion/Data folder and then vipcxj's high heels (in my case.) Then to fix the ladies' boobs in-game, I also went into the CS and did some poking around. Both of them were using the overweight skeleton included in the bsa.
Open Oblivion.esm and also HackdirtAlive.esp and set HackdirtAlive as the active file. Open first one and then the other ladies, EtiraMoslin and Marlena Brussinier. The button where it shows the overweight skeleton, go in and change it to your skeleton.nif file. That took care of it for me!
I think I might go back in and give one of the three males the overweight skeleton to see what it looks like. Right now at least two of them are using hunched.
Hope this helps! XD I'm enjoying it all because it's making me learn how to at least tweak mods in the CS. Maybe one day, I will learn to make something as useful as this mod! <3 And until I get an upscale computer, it would be for Obliv wayyyyy after everyone is onto whatever game comes after Skyrim. XD (I should get a new comp. Pretty sure I'm talking to myself here.)

Out of curiosity, if you see this, did you fix the BBB edition or the standard?
It would be great if you could perhaps add it directly on nexusmods to help others find it easier?
The patch removes changes to NPCs' appearance, rendering the BBB version unnecessary.
Thank you.
