1.ABOUT
-----------------------------------------------------------------

As I've gotten more and more of the interface retextured with Dark UI (more then 40 interface elements reworked to date), the things that has stood out as still blindingly bright were the loading screens. This addresses that. It retextures the outer portion of all 45 Bethesda loading screens with the same dark leather texture used for the main Dark UI mod. It uses the new knotwork border I designed for the generic interface background. The center portion (inside the frame) isn't altered at all. This allows me to darken roughly 3/4 of the loading screen, and yet allow them to retain the same basic flavor that Bethesda gave them. It also changes the text colors on the loading screens to keep them legible against the dark background.

It also replaces the main loading screen (the full-page parchment with the Oblivion symbol.) This wasn't my original intention, but it shared configuration options with the regular loading screens, making it necessary.

This was specifically designed as a companion mod for my own Dark UI, which should be available at the same place you got this. Dark UI is not, however, required to use Dark UI Loading Screens. Also look for my Loading Screen Design Kit, which includes modder resources and instructions for creating new loading screens in both original Bethesda and Dark UI styles.

2.INSTALLATION
-----------------------------------------------------------------
1. Extract to your \Oblivion\Data\ folder, overwriting if requested.

2. If you need it (if the screens don't change on their own the first time you run the game with them installed), an ArchiveInvalidation.txt is included. Simply place it in \Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\ (NOT \data). If you already have an ArchiveInvalidation.txt, simply open mine and copy-paste the lines into the one you already have.

3. (OPTIONAL) If you have the main menu background movie turned off, or are using a very dark custom background movie, I've included a file that will make the main menu text light and easier to read. Simply open the 'Optional Light Menu Text' folder and copy the contents to your \Oblivion\Data\ folder, overwriting.

3. PLAYING
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing else is required.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
4. KNOWN ISSUES
-----------------------------------------------------------------
None. This should be compatible with any mod other than those that alter the loading screens.

5. VERSION HISTORY
-----------------------------------------------------------------
1.10 - Changed the way the loading symbol is replaced (now doing it through .xml rather than as an override) to solve some problems with certain resolutions and a conflict with DarN's subtitles menu that gave his icon a red outline.
- Added an option to have light colored menu text for those who turn the menu movie off.
