I tried this mod a long, long time ago when it was new. It was fun, but not something I'd want to use all the time. It wiped out most of the waterfront people and other people who happened by the waterfront, along with oodles of Legion guys. When we say gargantuan, bu the way, we mean gargantuan. This thing is Godzilla sized! It also has a nifty new ability not shared with it's smaller cousins, namely, the ability to spit on you! The spit paralyzes you for several seconds, leaving you a sitting duck in case the crab isn't busy with someone else. A truly EPIC battle, for sure, and fun, but the crab is VERY hard to kill, and if you're smart you'll just run away until you can cast MAJOR spells. That means you get a bit of interference in those quests where you HAVE to sleep, such as in the thieve's guild, because you can't sleep or fast travel.
As for the Tiber Septim Hotel, the game has a feature built into it that takes things from mods that you turn off and puts them into the hotel for isolation. This somehow prevents the game from crashing, but I couldn't tell you how. Anyway, when you turn off the giant crab mod, either out of frustration or because it's done, the crab will then spawn in the hotel. of course, it won't FIT into the hotel, ( did I mention it was big? ) so it doesn't usually spawn until you enter the hotel, at which point all hell breaks loose when you again exit the hotel.
All in all, I say get this mod and try it once just to see the amazing spectacle for yourself. It really IS something to see!
My only real complaint is that it doesn't drop at least 100 lbs of crab meat when you finally beat it.
This is possibly one of the best mods i have downloaded yet, and i have some bloody good ones. The Mud Crab is actually huge, and packs a serious punch. The paralysis spell it has makes it seriously hard to beat up, but i was trying to beat it with my fists at level 1. Yeah, it disappeared after a while though. After playing for about 2 weeks, i joined the dark brotherhood and got to the quest where you have to kill Faelian. Went into the Tiber Septim Hotel, and something invisible started attacking me. I briefly caught a glimpse of it: IT WAS THE BLOODY MUDCRAB! it managed to get into the hotel. it killed 2 people. that was funny though. ">
whilst on the subject of Easter Eggs, has any body seen the Giant Slaughterfish that has a large inventory. It holds weapons, armour, miscellaneous items, and other stuff. I found this in a cave, of which name slips my mind sorry if you do find this fishy, reply to say what you found. I found approximatley 25 items in its inventory.
"Yauser" said:"I'd rather have an epic fight against some sinister evil with a background than a stupid mudcrab."
Yeah, me too, but fighting a giant crab is funny anyway, so it's the mod is still worth something... The positioning of the crab isn't very good though, I agree with "valliantstu"...
You really should make it so that you can strike the weak spot for massive damage. It's fun, but having it by the waterfront makes the early theives guild quests a little bit annoying. with the whole "bad dude nearby, no rest for you!" thing
