My ships are working relatively well. But near Leyawiin, when Barenziah’s ship tries to dock for a stop before its next destination, I fall through its texture into the water and it is no longer accessible to me at all. It becomes transparent and I can't activate it.Moreover, I'm pretty sick of the fact that the ships I travel on are always slowed down because of some fucking mud crab on the shore or in the water! To hell with all these fucking crabs and killer fish! Swim on, captain, don’t slow down, motherfucker, because of this little lousy little thing! Be a man, keep swimming calmly! Really, I'm sick of this factor in this mod! ^^
Doesn't matter what I do, the ships just don't appear :<

Hello, great mod and all works superb! Except one question.. can you change ship speed in animated mode? I find it a crawl to travel at the current speed and I mostly installed it because of that feature.. it kind of defeats the purpose to use the ships for me if I can walk faster to my locations.
Hi, thanks for this mod, I just installed it. I ran into a problem, unfortunately I am not getting any configuration book once I activate the ship for the first time. Just a message appears telling me to buy the ticket first. So I bought the ticket but I am not getting any command book anyway. I wanted to activate the animated travel.
edit: problem solved, I had to activate the ship when not aboard, my bad.
Okay Im confused, this mod says is compatible with Better Cities, but it requires Shipping in Cyrodiil, which according to the page is not compatible, so is this compatible or not? And does anyone knows if I can use this with Unique Landscapes, Im guessing no, but I still have to ask.
Probably, it changes the whole map, thanks for the answer this definitely tells me UL is NOT comaptible unless someone makes a patch.
But you say that "It requires Shipping in Cyrodiil if you are running Vanilla Oblivion.", so if I'm using Better Cities I DONT need Shipping in Cyrodiil?
Hi comespm Just recently reinstalled this mod for a new game and couldn't get it to work. Much head scratching and many confusing hours later, I discovered that this mod seems to be incompatible with Alternative Beginnings. Strange eh? It seems as if any other start that doesn't involve going through the sewer entrance prevents this passenger ships from starting properly. Any ideas? No worries, it is still a good mod, and a modder can't think of every little thing.
Thanks for the reply comespn, your courtesy was most welcome. Yes I thought it odd too. I'll give your suggestions a try and see what happens. I did try a lot of things including messing with the load order and at one point using "startquest" to force the mod's activation (to no avail).
I have the latest version of OBSE (21.4)
It's not too much of a problem for me as I'm not particularly "precious" with my game saves, I also use "MOM" so that I can have a multitude of installs each with their own saves. Which means I can more than afford to experiment.
I will let you know how it all pans out.
Edit: Just tried a "bare bones install" with a new game. Which included DLCs, unofficial patches, Shipping in Cyrodiil, and Your mod. Everything worked first time. My apologies to you (and indirectly to Arthmoor). I assumed that when removing Alternative beginnings fixed the problem that it was the culprit. I couldn't have been more wrong. Now I'm going to add mods until the game falls over and identify what went wrong originally.
Ok reinstalled all of the many mods that I had previously had running. Everything worked fine. I think the difference this time was that I installed the shipping mod and passenger ships first. Started the game and created my toon which then "emigrated to Cyrodiil" I saved, quit and then installed the other mods one-by-one, rebuilding my bashed patch each time. I loaded and saved more times than I care to count but it seems worth it. Sorry to have wasted your time comespn. Thank you for your patience Lesson learned. Many years ago I owned a motorbike that swear I must have spent more time fixing and maintaining than actually riding. Oblivions eems a lot like that wretched bike. <grin>
And I agree with the old bike analogy. I keep coming back to this 10 year old game because it's like a familiar place you still like to visit from time to time.
And every time you come back, you find the garden in disrepair or some new bits of paint peeling off, and then you have to restore it and you end up staying more than you intended.
But honestly, it was fun to check Arthmoor's vision of Oblivion and see it work with the mod.
I also use Alternative Beginnings, just installed this to test it out. I can control the ships but they don't seem to move without me telling them to. Are the ships supposed to move on their own when the animated ships option is on? That is, I could see another ship moving on its route while I am traveling? Maybe I just haven't seen that yet because as it says in the description they have their own timetables. Anyway, using the mod I noticed some stutter and CTDs, but it could have nothing to do with this of course. I'll just have to test more to find out. The speed of the ships is kind of slow, and the ships could find better places to dock (I've only traveled to Oyster Bay, but it just kind of docks off the shore, instead of the large boardwalk). Overall the implementation might be buggier than Side's Ships, but it does seem to work well, and these aren't warships anyway. So it's a pretty awesome mod overall as it adds a nice transportation network to other provinces.
Hope you still read these^^ I'm having some issues with your mod, ships just won't show up. OBSE is up to date, Oblivion and SI as well. Even with all the other mods disabled, it still won't work :/ Any idea, why it doesn't work properly?
I used to play with Better Cities - disabled it though to test if your mod runs without it.
I would really love to take use of your mod. Unfortunately it just won't work out for me^^
I'm nearly done with support for Arthmoor's Open Cities Reborn. It was harder than I expected, given the amount of changes that mod makes to the landmasses, but it's only a matter of a few days now for testing the changes and releasing a new version.
Any chance of an Open cities Reborn patch~? I just finished my Morrowind playthrough with animated boats, and now I've been spoiled with awesome moving boats...I need this in my life!

I don't know about Unique Landscapes, as I have never used that mod. Does it change any waterways?

You can try uninstalling/disabling the mod, loading your save game and make a "clean" save without it.
Then close Oblivion, reinstall/re-enable this mod and load your save game again.
That should force it to restart. Thanks for checking it out.
Oh, and make sure you have the latest OBSE version.

I couldn't find the reason for that issue, but it was very consistent.
So for user experience's sake, I made the ships simply stop while in combat and allow you to escape by getting inside and sleeping/waiting.
It was a long time in the making, but it's finally done and more or less tested.
