this is so cool and so sweet. I know thats not what the mod intended for but is there a way to make it as bright as normal torch? white is my favorite by the way :)
I couldn't send you this via a message 'cause Nexus is saying you can't receive any new messages.. so here it is
First off I just wanna say what an awesome mod the Crystal Torch is. I really like the selection in the recolor version too, it's cool to walk around with a blue light emanating while in dark places.
I'm working on a mod to make over the town of Weye called Weye Rebuilt, and underneath the town I'm working on a network of tunnels and caves and was wanting to use the Crystal Torches for lighting to give it a mystical feel. So before I do that I wanna get your permission to use your mod, I won't change any of the colors or textures or meshes, just resize a few in the construction set to fit the environment.
Also, the pic you show for you mod looks like your character is casting a circle of floating crystals, did you actually have that or was it just an edit to make the pic?
Actually those name changes were already discussed here - it happens when your Game version is in another language. It was not intentnional, but they can't be removed either, at least not by me. You will have to open the CS and manually rename those cells to match the language of your game
About TES4 edit... that thing drives me NUTS! This esp was newly created for this download, so it was clean. All I did was adding items. So I guess TES4edit is just reacting to the name changes.
I like the recolors, they look very nice, atmospheric.
A little things: Mod changes name of cell in IC to German name as I see in Tes4Edit. Also the name of Test container, but that doesn't matter much. It also changes a Z Rotation of a tower in Sub-Block 0,2. I think those might be unintentional edits and probably should be removed. Also, BOSS reports: 00crystalTorch.esp Active
First thing, thank you I got it to stop. Second, in his defense he was kind of dead not throwing it around. Conclusively, (is that a word, probably) the game doesn't want me to go insane anymore and has stopped playing that sound effect over everything.
Wow, that has never happened before O.o I have to admit I did only test the torches on companions, not on random NPCs who go and throw the torches around for fun XD Mhm... It seems that sometimes the game treats the sound effect as an ambient sound which plays wether there is a torch there or NOT. Which is totally weirding me out.
If it does not stop playing at all, find the sound effect in the Oblivion data folder, cut it out and copy paste it elsewhere. IOr you know, delete it Oo Should do the trick. The torch sound effect is obviously scripted to the torch idle animation, not the torch itself. So adding an additional sound sometimes makes the game angry xD
Another question for you Chak, no rest for you. I just recently made a new character and went through the main quest. During the mission Dagon shrine, when you assault the mythic dawn shrine, I gave up my equipment. The guy who took my gear equipped it which was rather humorous. After killing the guy who took my gear, I can't remember his name for the life of me, he dropped the torch on the ground. Now no matter what the sound effect keeps playing, do you have any idea on how to fix this?
tldr: The sound won't stop playing, do you know how to fix this?
VERY COOL!!!! LOVE IT and so much more classy than burning a wood torch....eyes dont burn and there is no smell and my feet dont get burned if I drop it....endorsed
Fascinating idea. I'm preparing to play Oblivion again and will definitely add these. Great for the ADOS. (Attention Defici--Ooh! Shiny!)
I also wanted to ask: what race and outfit is depicted in the picture/video?
Thank you!
Ooh, and while I was perusing the comments looking for a possible answer to my question, I happened across DraketheDragon's mention of scripting one of these as a creature helper. (Something like Navi from Zelda, only not annoying.)
I would LOVE if you two collaborated on something like that! As much for Oblivion as for Skyrim. Maybe possibly?

So many practical applications! They'd certainly make goods items to search for in a treasure hunt as well.
