An Infamous Alternate Start - [READ ME]

Description:

This mod is ideal for the infamous type character that has little desire to complete the main quest, or
anything that would earn them fame. This is because this mod WILL prevent you from beginning the main questline.
(At least without using the console). This mod will allow you and give you the chance to murder the Emperor of
Tamriel quite easily at the beginning of the game. However, by murdering the Emperor you will be unable to
acquire the Amulet of Kings, which is needed to begin main questline.

Installation:

This mod does not include any new textures or meshes. Only an .esp file.

1. After downloading this mod from the Nexus simply transfer the one .esp file from the folder and into your
Oblivion data directory in your program files.

2. Fire the game up and enable this mod in the data files of your oblivion launcher.

Uninstall:

1. To uninstall this mod simply remove this .esp file from your oblivion data directory in your program files.

Walkthrough:

Okay, this mod is fairly simple, I don't really need to include a walkthrough with this I'm sure, but I'll do
it anyway just to make sure everything works out right.

1. First things first, create a character you'd like to use on Oblivion. Once you have created the character,
Valen Dreth in the cell across from yours at the beginning of the game. After a bit the Emperor, escorted by
his Blades will arrive at your cell. Stand back against the wall near the window as instructed by Glenroy and
Captain Renault. When you do, eventually the Emperor will walk into your cell, notice you and start speaking
to you. He seems to identify you as a friend, and his Blade bodyguards do not question his judgement. After
going through the original dialogue with the Emperor you will discover a new option that you can select of your
dialogue. This option reads "May I follow out of the city?" By selecting this the Emperor will respond by
telling you he can see no reason why you should still be punished for your crimes as of now. After confirming
that you can indeed follow the Emperor and his Blades down the hidden passage another dialogue option will pop
up. This one reads, "Is there a weapon I could hold?" By asking the Emperor this, he will tell you that he has
no need for his own, as his Blades are enough protection and he will proceed to give you his silver shortsword.
After being given the shortsword a message box will pop up telling you that the Emperor has given you a weapon,
and you could kill him with it at the right time, if you so choose.

2. The next thing that happens is Captain Renault obviously opens the hidden passageway leading to the sewers.
By following the Emperor and the Blades down through the passageway eventually you will come across the first
room in which a group of Mythic Dawn assassins attempt to murder the Emperor. Oh yes, the Mythic Dawn are still
a real threat in this game, they are the real reason the Emperor came through your cell. When the Mythic Dawn
jump out of the shadows Captain Renault will say "Close left! Protect the Emperor!" Shortly after saying this
a message box will pop up saying this is the oppurtune moment to murder the Emperor if you so choose. However
THERE IS A TIME LIMIT!! After the message box pops up the Emperor will be non essential until the Mythic Dawn
assassins are killed and the Emperor says "Captain Renault?" Once he has said this he will become Essential
again and you will not receive another chance to assassinate him, you will have to go through the tutorial and
everything.

3. One hit should be enough to cut down the Emperor, I suggest getting into sneak just in case, get behind him
and you should be able to take him down. After the Emperor is dead a message box will pop up telling you that
you have obviously killed the Emperor and you need to get away as fast as possible. The message box will also
tell you that you can find the key to your cell on Captain Renault most likely.

4. By searching Captain Renault's body down farther in the room you will acquire the key to the cell and the
key to the Bastion. Most likely, depending on how fast you are, the Blades will still be fighting the Mythic
Dawn. So while they are distracted, make your escape. Grap the key, run back up the tunnel and into your cell.
If the wall is blocking your way back into the cell (It shouldn't be) then just disable it and re-enable it.
I know this for a fact because Captain Renault said "We best not close this one, it cant be opened from the
other side." Once in your cell, use the key to unlock the door. Run up the passage to the door leading into
the Bastion and unlock it with the same key. Once in the Bastion all you have to do is escape the Imperial City.
Take care though! You should have quite a hefty bounty by now :P
