Is anyone else having issues with MPGUI failing on the DXT1/3/5 compression? MPGUI correctly creates the meshes but it keeps failing when trying to create the textures. Selecting no compression works but it creates BMP files. I've never run into this issue in the distant past. Maybe a prerequisite issue? Permissions?
Started generating LOD via this program, and the last thing it shows is "no batch file, will read from stdin". It's been over half an hour, and it looks like nothing's happening, but MPGUI acts like it does. Did I mess something up, or is this how it works? Never mind, I fixed it.
For those having crashes just run this program in compatibility mode for windows 8. I didn't have any problem after that. I tried running it as administrator but that only made the problem worse. But whichever helps for you guys.
I would like to know if you or anyone can tell me how this would improve my fallout 3 and new vegas ? if so and how so, do tell me how to set the settings for best performance and appearance in game, willing to take instructions in private message anyone use this before on fall out 3 or new vegas? i see the mod can walk you through it but i feel im a bit unsure what to do since most of these comments pertain to oblivion. any help so i can consider this to install knowing how it might help me im willing to try it if its going to improve my in game play.
For anyone following the Oblivion Vanilla Enhanced mod guide and installing mpgui_1_22 receiving the following error:
"The folder path 'oblivion/" contains an invalid character"
...here's how I fixed it.
This involves a simple registry edit. Although simple, always be careful when editing the windows registry and only do exactly the following:
1. From the Start Menu, type regedit and hit Enter. 2. In the window that opens there is an address bar at the top (right below "File", "Edit", etc) 3. Copy/Paste the following in that address bar: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion. And hit Enter.
4. In the panel on the right you should see this:
5. The text next to "Installed Path" under "Data" is the folder path where windows thinks your Oblivion executable is. 6. Right Click "Installed Path", then Click Modify. 7. In the box that appears, you can edit the text under "Value Data." 8. Change the forward slash to a backslash. 9. If the text in that box appears incorrect in some other way, correct it to match your Oblivion directory. 10. Click OK and close the registry editor. You're done and the installation should proceed as expected.
So this doesn't work with mod managers? Because not only does it not load TES4LL in the default data directory and the mod manager's directory, but I get a bunch of errors like [Error] - WARNING: FOUND A WILD NON-ASCII RECORD HEADER in file Oblivion.esm, last rec was TES4 [Warning] Game mode not set, try to use the search pattern.... [Warning] ...failed
Ok, I managed to fix this issue for myself. For anyone else who has the issue, using TESAnnwyn with the command line works fine, but trying to import 32bit RAW heightmaps into Oblivion with the GUI version here is broken.
I should say though that this GUI is still a great tool with no other issue that I've found, so very much worth the download :)
