Hello everyone, I was not aware that this mod has had received so much attention over the years as I haven't touched it since 2011 and haven't done any modding at all since 2013. I was pretty young and naive when I made this mod so I didn't do all of the testing I should have, hence its brokenness. I no longer have any of the source files and frankly I've forgotten how it was initially put together so I'm afraid I won't be able to fix it. If any intrepid modders here want to have a swing at making it work or at least adapting it to a new mod altogether, you're more than welcome to upload a patched version.
If anyone's modified the files to the corrections the Chatmort mentioned, may you please post the files here or make a mod page for it and credit the original for simplicity's sake?
Pretty sure that would be a bad idea and would get taken down by a moderator. Lt. Hawk seems to have been inactive for almost a decade and he explicitly stated do not make alterations to this mod in particular without permission. Someone would have to take the assets from the original Medieval Resources mod and compile a new mod for them. Unless you're willing to fix these files yourself for your own personal use or create an entirely new mod out of Wikinger's resources, don't expect any updates. I suppose someone could post updated files from Wikinger's resources mod, but you'd have to replace the files in this one to make it work.
Outstanding... What a great mod, dude thanks those changes are awesome, I like it above maybe all of the oblivion vanilla stuff... MAY I ASK YOU, IF POSSIBLE... WOULD YOU CHANGE THE REST OF THE ARMORS????? LIKE EACH ONE OF THEM BUT WITH THIS EXCELLENT MEDIEVAL STYLE
Hey, may I make a suggestion? I love the idea of more realistic armors, but I still think the oriental style of the Blades armor should remain. Is there a way to disable the Royal Guardian armor and sword only, or to replace it with a more realistic but still samurai-like armor?
Just delete the relevant record in TES4Edit. Load the esp in TES4Edit, expand the esp in the left pane, expand Armor, then look for anything referencing blades in the EditorID column, right click and then click remove. Close and save. Easy peasy.
Alternatively just find the home for the blades armor in your file directory and just rename the armor pieces you want to replace to the names the blades armors are, thus replacing the file. I wouldn't recommend doing this on a game install without a .bsa for your meshes however, and would advise making back ups.
to me, it does not replace any armor, baurus uses a steel plate armor with a helmet without textures (all purple). what the hell am i supposed to do? I installed it with NMM but nothing changes.
Edit: I saw the armor in the testinghall, only the textures of the royal guardian helmet are missing. many gloves of some sets are not present. the weapons are there, only the textures of some of the gothic weapons are missing.
edit 2: partly solved for the texture of the helmet by following the advice in the comments. now the colors are present, but the black of the slits for the eyes is positioned as on the forehead and the holes in the helmet for breathing are also above the half of the helmet.
Hey everyone. Been fooling around with this mod during my play-through and have managed to find a fix to the issue with the mercenary arms missing. It turns out the problem is a missing dds file that the mod author forgot to include into the mod for whatever reason. The nif file references a missing dds file so when the Cuirass is rendered, the arms are missing.
Anyway, the solution is pretty simple. Most of the mod uses assets from a modding resource pack called "Medieval Armor Resources" by Wikinger9048. This is where the missing dds file is located and you can use this to fix your game. Follow these instructions:
1) Go to https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/20877/?tab=files&topic_id=336019 and download the mod
2) unpack and extract with whatever software you use. winrar, 7zip, etc
3) Go into the Medieval Armor 2.5 folder that's been extracted and navigate to: Medieval Armor 2.5/data/textures/clothes/upperclass
4) There should be a folder there named "Wikinger"
5) Move or copy this folder into the proper directory in Oblivion: Oblivion/Data/Textures/Clothes/Upperclass
The Mercenary Cuirass should be fixed and the arms should now be visible again. Idk why the author didn't include the dds files in the mod. There seems to be a number of issues that I've run into while playing that I've had to troubleshoot myself. No doubt he was simply an amateur wanting to create a mod for people but lacked the skills to do it properly. I commend his efforts nonetheless. Most of the issues I've seen with this mod have been addressed by other people in the comments thankfully. By adding in the Wikinger folder into the textures, hopefully if there's any other missing textures it will solve that issue as well.
Ok this is very weird, I no longer have the sugarloaf helm texture or the Teutonic helm texture. I don't see them in either download either. WTF?! I HAD them, I wore the helms at least once in-game, so where are the textures? Screenshot 8 "Royal Guardian Armor and Sword" shows a toon wearing the sugarloaf helm. Have you recently updated the archive? I am at a loss to explain this.

Hope this helps!
At least 50% just don't work.
