Medieval Armor and Weapon Replacer version 1.0
A MOD for TES IV: Oblivion by LieutenantHawk

The goal of this MOD was simple: give Oblivion a more historic Medieval feel. Sure, it's a fantasy game, but I've never really loved the designs of the fantastical armors and weapons and I wanted to replace them with something that I personally enjoy more. Using several armor and weapon MODs and resources, I've swapped out some of the stranger items in the game for more gritty, realistic Medieval ones. This allows for more mix-and-matching between armor and weapon classes, since they're all more similar in style now.

I did not make any of the meshes and textures used in this MOD. Proper credit is given at the end of this readme.

--{Features}--

Note: This MOD does NOT replace any meshes or textures; it simply swaps them out in the CS. If at any moment you decide that you don't want to use this MOD anymore, simply disable it and the game will revert to using the original items.

Here is a list of the vanilla armors and what they've been replaced with:
-Fur - Padded
-Elven - Reinforced Leather
-Glass - Scale
-Mithril - Fine Chainmail
-Ebony - Heavy Chainmail
-Orcish - Mercenary
-Dwarven - Gothic
-Daedric - Daedric Steel
-Blades - Royal Guardian

Now, the weapons:
-Silver - Tempered
-Glass - Southern
-Elven - Light
-Ebony - Nordic
-Dwarven - Gothic
-Daedric - Daedric Steel
-Blades - Royal Guardian

The vanilla Leather, Chainmail, Iron and Steel armors, as well as the Iron, Steel and Fine Steel weapons were untouched, as I felt that they fit well enough with what I had in mind. No stats were changed except some of the warhammers were switched from two-hand to one-hand weapons, because the only warhammer meshes I could find were mostly one-handed.

Enchanted versions of the armors as well as those found in the arena, Daedric bound armors and weapons, and unique armor and weapon items were not altered. I thought that there should still be at least some access to the vanilla items.

While I had a good variety of armors to use, many of them did not have their own world models and therefore I had to find substitutes. I tried to use things as similar as possible, however some of them are not accurate representations of the equipped version at all. There's not anything I can do about that since I have no knowledge of how to make or alter meshes.

Like the lack of world models, most of the armors I used do not have female versions; I simply used the male version in each one's place.

The weapons, like the armors, were thrown together from many sources to create new sets. Each set has weapons from many different places, so they will not match perfectly (though I tried to combine them in similar groups by style and color.) This should at least add a bit of variety to the game.

--{Installation}--

Copy the "Meshes" and "Textures" folders along with "LtH_Armor_Replacer.esp" and "LtH_Weapon_Replacer.esp" into your Oblivion/Data folder. Activate the two .esp files before you start the game.

As stated above, this MOD doesn't replace any of the vanilla meshes or textures, so it can be disabled at any time and won't leave any trace in your game.

--{Bugs/Conflicts}--

This MOD will conflict with any other that alters or uses the game's vanilla armors or weapons. Mostly it will just overlap other MODs rather than conflicting with them, so it most likely will not cause any major issues.

If there are any issues with any of the armor or weapon items, please let me know as soon as possible so I can fix them!
