Hey, I've tried this mod and these are my observations:

    > All these comments about the lair being a fps killer didn't match to reality. I've got a amd quad core 2.2 ghz and a geforce gt 640, and I admit that in the wost spot possible, the fps were 25. So, don't worry about fps.

    > The lair is extremely dark. And I mean extremely. A torch is required, I guess. Maybe it was real lights from All natural, but I had some difficulties seeing all the details of the lair with the window of my room open. I had to close the window and shield my room from the sun.

    > The main room is actually cute. All these lights coming down and wandering add a magic effect to the lair. Truth be told, I wasn't able to go underwater. I read a comment (maczopikczo's one) where he claims to have been scared by an underwater statue. I wonder how he was able to go down.

    > There are some doors leading up, but I've got no clue on how to open them, or if they can be opened. I admit I've used the cheat 'tcl' aka noclip to check if I was missing something, but I feel like those are merely decoration.

    > I didn't enjoy the layout of the lair. The three rooms are actually very little, and some of the objects contained (like the mirror) have no point. I mean, I'm for the practicability. Although, the mirror per se makes sense, if you know a bit of vampiric lore: "in some cultures, vampires do not have a reflection and sometimes do not cast a shadow, perhaps as a manifestation of the vampire's lack of a soul".

    > Another thing that I didn't enjoy was the fact that you get the lair as soon as you add the mod to the game. I understand that this was done to be user-friendly, but it kinda breaks immersion, or at least it breaks immersion the way I envision it to be. The fact that there is no one guarding the lair, doesn't help either. And it doesn't help the fact that there are some master alembic\calcinator\mortar inside one of the rooms. It comes cheap this way.
My personal suggestion would be making an alternate version of this mod, based on vile lair. I would add to the vile lair one note, explaining how to access the lair: I would suggest that the requisite should be being a vampire + having the key guarded inside the vile lair itself.
The same note could be speaking about the fact that that lair is now sealed, and that there is a vampire that was once friend of the vile lair's owner, that is now gone crazy, and that will attack whoever comes inside.

+kudos if you add a popup when opening the lair the first time, that sends shivers down your spine.

So, in the end, these are my observations. I suggest to try this mod and see if it hits your taste. I think that it definitely needs some improvements on some part

Edit: Disclaimer: all my observation are subjective. So try the mod and do not neglect it because you think that it won't hit your taste.
Edit 2: there is also a graphical glitch in my compilation. I don't know if it is my fault (it probably is), but I've made a video, in case anyone knows what it could be: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4yEQ4cqrzE

For those experiencing lag, the light version simply splits the one cell layout of the lair to three seperate interior cells. However the main cause of lag is the amount of light sources and therefore many will still experience lag even in the light version. An example is one of fireplaces in the bedroom, it has 1 light source for the fireplace, one lightsource for the candle above the fireplace, another for the candle to the right, and another for the candle to the left. That's four light sources for one small spot. Some places, an individual candle will have two light sources when a single light source IMO could adequately do the job. The fireplace itself IMO could be done with a single light source (albeit a brighter one). Consider that in that bedroom there are two fireplaces each, candles in the corners and candles on both sides of the bed and you have a very small space with a lot of light sources. Each one the computer has to generate shadows for and as they overlap, a single surface gets illuminated multiple times and each time the illumination is calculated seperately. In most Oblivion cells, a room of that size is covered by 1-2 light sources. The room in my example has about 13.

That said, the layout of the mod is excellent and as with all the mods I've seen from Yevic, they're unique and beautifully done (one of my favourite ORE modders) so I've given my endorsement as the mod essentially achieves its goal IMO. But my proposal (and something I've done in my own version of this mod) is to replace a lot of these light sources with a single, brighter light source. For me this has resulted in an FPS increase of about 12-16, going from 24 to 37-40 FPS the main area and staying at around 50-60 fps in the individual rooms - this is the result of my modification of the normal version. I suspect with the light version all rooms would be 60 FPS.

Only use i see with this is the spell, and enchantment alters.....other than that it's not worth it.
Tried it,and it's not for me,even though i love vamps, and dark characters, will recommend it,but the lag is worse than my games lags in general....and from what comments i have seen here about the light version,it's just a bit better if at all, personally haven't tried the light version,so i can't say....But good job on the layout, and look of the lair....awesome and very dark.

    Respect

Finally I had a chance to try it out. It's a really cool looking place with a terrible lag (even with the light version). The statue below the surface of water freaked me out One thing I'm curious about is the category - why is it in quests and not in abodes? Am I sadly missing something?

The layout of the mod looks like an exact copy and paste of http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33033 you should give Mr_Siika credit. Other than that this is a nice mod.

thanks again for the lair, I always wanted such in my game, since my characters are vampires, mostly.
also, I just wanted to tell you, the race you're using for your vampire girl will be re-released soon in a higher quality <3 check out updates on Flan's page from time to time XD
