Tried a few replacement textures now and found this one the most pleasing by far. Clearly visible light rays are neither too sharp nor too blurry, they're not too long or too short either. The lens flares are also nicely subtle. Looking straight into the sun is not overblown. The overall coloring is not too reddish. If it could be any improved, maybe have the lens flares a tiny bit more visible and sharper, really just a notch. Pretty much what I was looking for as it is though, endorsed.
I have tried several sunglare mods and so far this is my favorite. One small imperfection tho - and this is also true of the authors other sunglare mod : there is a noticable square around the sun where the texture doesn't blend well with the rest of screen, so there is an off hue - kinda pinky-orangish square from the glare - least noticable with "bright sun lens effect" option.
I didn't think it was possible to make something so minor, so amazing, I usually take screenshots every time I see something nice, I looked at my screenshot folder 1 day after downloading this mod and found about 20 images of sunsets. . . . .
This mod is unbelievably good. I have never seen such beauty in a game before.
This looks pretty cool. It is certainly a lot simpler than OBGE and looks pretty good.
The only problem I see is that if you put a tree between the sun and you, you can see the entire circle of the sun through the tree, which doesn't quite seem right.So, the way that either the entire circle is visible or hidden makes this a little unrealistic.
I use to have the same problem, it was graphic driver related (Nvidia).
It was fixed in the last releases.
Try to update your graphic's drivers.

A very nice looking effect, but I experience the same minor glitch, even though I have the latest ATI drivers installed (but perhaps in this case ATI is a step behind Nvidia).

Although, I think SonicEthers Beaming glare is good(which i used first)
